Dr. Karpuzoglu, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
As a woman and a scientist, I’ve always been inspired by nature, science, skincare, and beauty. I have been behind the scenes of the beauty world for more than ten years, six of which were spent working directly with prominent cosmetic ingredient producers as a scientist and a consultant. I knew the beauty market at first hand, and was strongly driven to solve my own skin problems, so I put my research on hormone-disrupting chemicals on the immune system to work in the exploration of healthier, more natural skin care alternatives – that are actually backed up with real science.
We always hear toxic materials in the environment or food, but not always in skin care. In reality, these toxic materials–like heavy metals–can easily find their way into skin care as well eventually affecting us. I researched the beauty market, butcouldn’t find anything that was truly free from hormone-disrupting chemicals, 100% natural and nontoxic with scientific proof and that actually worked. I have taken up a quest to find a completely worry-free product that is 100% nontoxic, luxurious, natural with all the tests done and has the scientific credentials! The ones I could find, however, were not even close to satisfying the whole health and wellness that my skin and body deserved – so I set out to start my own.
When we started AveSeena, my goal was simple: to offer the ultimate wellness for the whole you. Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Oh, of course with any cutting-edge concept, we had lots of ups and downs. Once we developed the final formula, everyone thought the hard work is done, but it was not even close. The hard work of setting the quality and making a real difference lies in the small details, and gets harder when you apply this uncompromising quality principle to all aspects of the work. Every step of this difficult road was full of challenges, including finding the best packaging to conserve the efficacy of the product, going the extra mile with testing, searching all around the world for sustainable freshest, purest and highest quality of whole plants and botanical ingredients… Another challenge we had during formulation was to stay away from artificial fragrances with phthalates (known hormone disruptors). After months of research, we achieved what we wanted – integrating the divine smell of floral waters, botanical essences, Damask Roses, fresh cucumbers and other floral essences.
These high-quality ingredients and their holistic combination in the products are key to our formulation and success. This way of formulation is more expensive, harder and time-consuming, however, our specific Dermoimmuno formulation process delivers unparalleled nourishment, nutrition, and luxurious results that all of our customers truly deserve.
