Meet Eduardo Salinas of Salinas Consulting in Gwinnett

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eduardo Salinas.

Eduardo, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started out because I was always fascinated by personal development, so what people can accomplish if they set their minds to it. I asked myself from the day I got out of high school, “what can I do right now with the resources and connections that I already have?” I didn’t ask myself what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I found out some of my extended family worked for a party rentals business in Houston, TX, a huge one. The market there for bouncy house rentals is bigger, hotter weather year round. Anyway, I started off small, with only 1-3 bouncy houses stored in our backyard. I learned how to do everything through family. Eventually, I mastered this craft through grinding through the learning curve of successfully interacting with clients, and the overall best way to maximize the business. (After being successful with the party rentals business, I let it go and launched Salinas Consulting because I found out I was way more passionate about the marketing and entrepreneurship side of things. Now I have my own clients such as JRJ Landscaping.) That’s how I got to where I am now.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
There aren’t any overwhelming obstacles that got in my way. However, if I had to pick a few I would say that starting the business was one of them because like everyone else, I was victim to procrastination, and not being sure whether or not to go ahead with it. People would say it wasn’t a good idea, etc. Doing it anyway required me to trust in myself and in my vision for the future. The second thing I would say is learning everything I learned. It’s not just about throwing yourself into it, you have to learn things to make it to where you want to be. I learned marketing skills, how to make a website, and how to be a good communicator. A lot of people are afraid of face to face interactions or trying out new things like starting a website, but everyone has to start somewhere, everyone ever started from the bottom.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
After going from 0 to hundreds of clients over just a few years, I decided to help other businesses do the same thing. That’s how Salinas Consulting got started, as a marketing agency. Getting clients is a science. Marketing is a science. I discovered there’s certain things you can do to be successful, and that’s what I teach others. It also helped to meet a few multimillionaires in Newport Beach, California this summer. I learned about being an entrepreneur, marketing, copy writing, online sales, and a lot more. It was great meeting people like Bedros Keuilian, CEO of Fit Body Bootcamp. I have my own personal experience, but also what I’ve learned from multimillionaires, and what I learned at the University of Georgia.

What were you like growing up?
I have always been ambitious. When I was younger I focused all of my energy into becoming a professional soccer player and getting good grades. I was always curious about things I don’t know. Nowadays I’m exactly the same. However, my energy and focus are in the things I really love, and I learn as much as possible instead of being curious.
