Today we’d like to introduce you to Elisa Turner.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’ve always had a love for business. Some people like to shop, but I like to work. I started my entrepreneurship career when I was in elementary school. I started my first candy business. Even though it was only two weeks, it was enough to spark the business bug in me forever. From there, I started my own professional promotion company. For four years, I got hands on business experience. At a young age I got to feel the trials, tribulations, and the rush every entrepreneur feels when they birth their business baby.
To further my business interest, I obtained a Bachelor of Business from Georgia Southern University. At this point in life, I wanted to know everything there was to know about the topic of business. After I graduated college, I started asking myself what my next business should be. What does adult Elisa like to do? I soon realized I had an intuitive ability to help people.
I accidentally became the go-to person for my friends and family for resume help. Oddly enough, it was the passing of rapper Nipsey Hussle and an optimistic friend that lead me to the launch of CareerPURSUIT. The magnitude of his funeral and overall feeling of grief the world felt, lead me to ask myself what would my funeral look like? Would a million people around the world morn my death, I felt like they wouldn’t.
It was in those moments, I decided I should start doing something that would help the world. I know a resume business doesn’t seem like a big piece, but if I can help my fellow brothers or sisters get off minimum wage, then I can help give something to humanity. Families can’t survive off minimum wage and I want to be one of the advocates that helps bring light to the issue.
Has it been a smooth road?
That is an interesting question. When asked about my obstacles, I like to say, “I didn’t have a silver spoon, but I had a clean one.” I’ve realizing those obstacles aren’t obstacles, they are the layers that create my creative onion. Those obstacles created my perception, my depth, and my view. The extra lap I took in college, the trial and errors of launching various businesses, or not truly seeing my potential are beautiful challenges. Taking the time to figure out each obstacle is what makes me a good writer.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the CareerPursuit story. Tell us more about the business.
At CareerPursuit, I create various types of content for business and career usage. I create custom resumes, cover letters, thank you letters, job finder suggestions, reference sheets, update indeed profiles, recommendation letters, 15 min interview evaluations, proposals, business plans and content creation packages for business and personal use.
I specialize in resumes, cover letters, and my job finder suggestions. If someone utilizes both my resume and cover letter then applies to all the jobs listed on the Job Finder, they will have an interview within 60 days. I’ve even had clients receive an interview within 30 days.
I’m most proud of my ability to provide a professional resume for a reasonable price.
My creativity set me apart from other resume writers. My only goal is to write the best resume possible.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I see the industry growing because of the desire to work from home and work for themselves.
