Meet E$P Nique of SGM

Today we’d like to introduce you to E$P Nique.

E$P Nique, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Started rapping around 14 years old for the fun of it. Come across “New Message,” and he pushed me to take it to another level around 2012. 2015 hit and I linked up with Jo-al, and he pushed me even further into since then its been grind mode. My biggest influences are soul, funk or neo-soul artist (Marvin Gaye, Sade, Anita Baker, so on & so on) which is crazy cuz that’s not the style I create.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely hasn’t been the easiest road. I make my music based off experience, so a lot of the pain I felt & depressive periods had to be reflected in some of the music. Of course, you got the simple artist struggles like trying to get ya name out and dealing with shady ass folks, but we all feel that. Life, its self, is my challenge.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about E$P– what should we know?
I am my own business so I’m just proud of the progress I’ve made thus far. Just simply being able to create something authentic is satisfying.

I personally think my sound itself sets me apart; it’s really one of one I don’t sound like a replica of another artist.

What role has luck (good luck or bad luck) played in your life and business?
I would necessarily say luck just good fortune & fate. Good or bad, making progress or being stagnant comes from the energy you put into shit. That and gods will.
