Today we’d like to introduce you to Epiqué and Donnie “D3” Watson.
There are two words that come to mind when describing Millionaire’s Estate – Energetic. Overload. This sensational, lead guitar driven Urban-Pop duo from Atlanta, Georgia bring a long awaited breath of fresh air; and although they are new to most, individually each member has been around for awhile working with some of the music industry’s brightest stars.
Adontia “D3” Watson is one of the premier guitarists on the Atlanta’s live music scene. His wildly intricate riffs can be heard playing alongside the best in Atlanta’s Nightlife and some of music’s most legendary artists such as Lenny Williams, Ann Nesby, Denise Williams and Nicole Wray. But D3’s talents run deeper; he is a lyricist and the producer half of Millionaire’s Estate. His southern drawl and straightforward delivery paint vibrant, honest pictures for listeners and draws them into his world of decadent debauchery while affirming his belief in being passionate, loyal and self-confident in life. The other half of Millionaire’s Estate is the songstress and writer Ebonie “Epique” Watson. Getting her start behind Ludacris’ Disturbing Tha Peace R&B artist, Shareefa, Epique has gone on to sing with both national and international artists-Tammy Rivera and Mother’s Finest just to name a few. Her alto vocal stylings and whimsical songwriting can be described as sexy-luxe-fun, dotted with clever and sassy rhymes that take listeners into a world of diamond encrusted fantasies. With their forces combined, the Millionaire’s Estate bring a balance of energy, youth, experience, love and fun. They show us that being married is not a death sentence, but the beginning of the best party ever.
Has it been a smooth road?
To describe it as smooth or rocky really does our journey no justice because we more so think of it as a plethora of learning experiences full of trial and error. We don’t think in the terms of win or lose, rough or smooth because really it’s only been success. When you look at it life as a learning experience, we feel like you can’t do anything but win.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
What makes us the most proud is that firstly we are a husband and wife duo!!!! That’s crazy in itself for the time we live in. Next is we have created our own sound that we call “ Space Pop”: which we define as an atmospheric vibe which plays up wavy synthesizers, reverb and the delay effects creating a vacuum of musical sound space. Our unique sound also features Donnie on lead guitar and that attribute also allows us to stand out from the competition and adds to our massive energy, cheeky hooks, and luxe sound.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Yes and no actually, depends on the type of music you’re doing. A trap rapper or most hip-hop artists will be fine In Atlanta but if you do anything outside of that we say no. There is no scene or networking opportunities for anything outside of hip hop or maybe even r&b in the city. Thats why we have decided to start the Instagram campaign #BringPopToAtlanta. We want to attract more artists like ourselves and bring more major labels to the city to scout for artists outside of trap or r&b music. Through our music and campaign, we hope to diversity Atlanta’s music scene and one day make it easier for artists of any genre to be heard and supported in our great city.
