Meet Eric McCall of Edot

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eric McCall.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Well, in high school I didn’t have the money to buy the clothes I wanted, so I began customizing my own and making something out of nothing. I distressed jeans and was really trying out any style just to make an outfit work for the next day.

After graduating, I began to go deeper into fashion, finding people who inspire me and that I look up to in it like Ev Bravado. Watching people bring ideas to life put a fire in me to start doing it myself, but I never had the proper tools being in college (Georgia Southern) and barely getting by.

I did a few styling positions, but it wasn’t nothing too serious, it just gave me the taste of the world I want to be in & very soon I got tired of the country and moved back to Atlanta. I prayed to God and told myself I’m going to take this serious because this is what I really wanted to do.

Weeks later, I ended up messing with a stripper who sews and would let me borrow her sewing machine & this is what jump started me into being a designer. I began to alter clothes, and half a year later, I bought my own sewing machine & started making pieces from scratch.

Has it been a smooth road?
Its been everything but that lol, but that’s the fun. It makes the wins so much sweeter.

Things like money, situation, circumstances all types of stuff were part of my struggles. I don’t want to get into too much detail but just know certain points were way more grim than others but with some help from God & some solid ones I’m making a way.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Edot – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I’m a Designer/Stylist/Model. I’m also getting into creative directing here and there.

What sets me apart from everyone else is the fact that I am me & also that I wasn’t supposed to end up doing things like this, but I am. I don’t relate to others in my field. I realized I don’t have to be in a place with them I’m in my own lane and embraced that.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and the least?
Wings, Thug, and the fact the whole city don’t care to listen to a boss. If we can we gone get it out the mud and make our own way. The unspoken drama and unnecessary hate. Oh, & traffic.
