Meet Faith Harris of Purposed Faith in Mcdonough

Today we’d like to introduce you to Faith Harris.

Faith, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My name is Faith, owner of Purposed Faith. I’m a Writer, Photographer, and Purpose pusher. My brand is built on Media and Life Coaching. I use my art to help women propel from their places of pain to purpose! Purposed Faith was birthed out of a passion for assisting women in maximizing their potential and encouraging them through art.

I’ve been immersed in art for as long as I can remember. I started entering art competitions in kindergarten. I’ve spent my life sketching and capturing moments. I have been using a Camera before I even understood the dimensions of photography. I just knew I loved capturing moments, even down to the smallest details. I remember getting my first disposable Kodak camera around age 8. After that, I never put one down.

I was accepted into The Art Institute during high school but ended up choosing another route. I went on to receive my B.S in psychology. While working in the medical field for eight years, I knew I wanted to make a more significant impact on helping women. By the grace of God, I have been healed from abuse at every level. I knew as I recovered that I wanted other women to experience the feeling of being free from the bondage of hurt, trauma, and abuse. While also feeling free to be who they are without the limitations of people.

God has called me to help other women find their purpose through the pain. Through the hurdles of life, I have been graced to hold on to God’s purpose, and I want to help other women do the same as well!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. Stepping out on your own with limited resources is never easy. Keeping my eyes on the vision has helped me to maintain the purpose behind my passion. Being a woman in business pushes me to be more serious and firm about my brand and the future.

Getting others around you to see your vision for what it is has been one of the hardest parts of entrepreneurship. Also, separating the personal from the business and not allowing friends or family to lower your standards because they may not see the vision at first.

Being a business owner trying to monetize my vision has also been challenging, but not in vain. Some friends, because they know you are good at certain things, think they can always receive free work. I think that has been a big problem for a lot of people. We have to get out of the box, thinking that just because we know someone who owns a business, we can support them without any compensation. Because of that, I make it an effort to support where I can. Its more than the money, but its the intent and the vision. When you support your friends, your sowing into their vision, you help them set a foundation for years to come.

Please tell us more about your work. What do you do? What do you specialize in? What sets you apart from competition?
I am a Writer, Photographer, and Life (Purpose) coach. I coach women through healing and finding their purpose. I offer branding shoots to build up their confidence during or at the end of a coaching session.

I specialize in getting to the root of trauma and hurt so that women can move forward without the constant feeling of lingering issues stemming from those places. I’m most proud of being in a place where I can help others. I love to serve. I want others to open up to another side of themselves; they may not have thought was possible. What sets me apart from others is that I’m genuine. Everything I do or speak about has been formulated over time. I like to think of Purposed Faith as a wine that has set over time and ready to be poured.

I’m also a writer. My first book, titled Purposed Faith, will be released in oct. This book is all about my life struggles, hurts, pains, and deliverance. I write poems from the perspective of struggle, purpose, and resilience. Also, I have a journal for healing being released this September. Purposed Faith is all about growth, healing, and becoming your best self, no matter where you come from.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I plan on expanding purposed Faith in so many ways. I want to have an impact on many different creative levels. Something I plan on doing is helping other women gain opportunities in their personal lives and business. I’m looking forward to planning out my next book and networking with like-minded women to open more doors and more platforms for women of color.

I have a few changes up my sleeves that I will keep a secret until they launch. Right now, I have expanded my business into my own Christian apparel line. This Tee- shirt line represents everything about Christ while bridging the gap between culture and Christ. I want to impact everyone regardless of race, color, sexuality. I want people to know they are loved and valued in a world that seems so big and limited.
