Meet Faith Underwood of Infinite Faith Publishing in East Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Faith Underwood.

Faith, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I took the leap of faith.

Self-awareness and owning my power are the driving forces for my success. Writing has been such a pivotal advancing force in my life, but I can’t say that I was always aware of it. Yet, alignment is steadily on time. It was when I hit my “rock-bottom” that I realized the rocks around me were my building blocks. I meditated with the crystals buried deep around me and metamorphosed from excessively emotional to exceptionally empowered. My mom was on to something when she named me Faith. Using my middle name, and my granddad’s family name, I became Faith Underwood (pseudonym), tapping into my faith while paying homage to the entrepreneurial spirit of my ancestors. I didn’t know it then, but my chronicles would soon become my diary. And diaryoffaith.com is still alive in its fourth year and thriving.

Creating a space to be me truly gave me a voice. I was able to yell, “yes!” when so many others said, “no.” I did this by isolating and owning up to my self-diminishing habits. That charged me up. I had one less worry or negative consequence because I wasn’t devaluing myself wearing other people’s perceptions of me. I had to appreciate what I had to offer myself. And most importantly, I knew I was doing work on me, to help myself and others. We heal the world when we heal ourselves.

What were the results of all of this self-work? A fifty-chapter, sexy, fiction novel called TRIGGER (released in 2017). A super loving relationship with my daughter, Imani, established in 2018. A young and growing business, Infinite Faith Publishing & Enterprises, organized in 2019. And lastly, a children’s book and coloring book, Great Rising!, being released at the end of this month (April 2020.)

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My road has been somewhat bumpy, lol. Like others, besides dealing with my personal pressures, I’ve had many life events that have required me to update my thinking. I’d say the two most impactful events throughout this journey thus far have been deciding to make a career switch and having a child. I believe that we are continually learning about ourselves and discovering the ways of life that bring us peace. So, to be constantly re-creating myself while simultaneously raising another human is sometimes overwhelming. Yet, oh so rewarding and fulfilling. Before becoming a full-time entrepreneur, I held many positions, from environmental report writer to science teacher.

Much of my work career was spent working with our youth. That made my decision to leave my job as a classroom teacher pretty difficult. However, teaching was extremely time-consuming for me and, at the time, stifled my writing. Other major factors, but minimal compared to the preceding, were experiencing consecutive lay-offs earlier in my career, which was financially discouraging. I have been very blessed to have friends and family that uplift me through it all. I am where I am because of them. Oh! And let’s not minimize 2020. This year has been very eventful and very fast. Between a car accident at the top of the year and the negative impacts of COVID-19, even today, I still have my short-lived moments of anxiousness. I combat them with meditation, prayer, and talking it out with my partner and friends.

Infinite Faith Publishing – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Infinite Faith Publishing & Enterprises, LLC was established in March of 2019. This act of faith was integral to my plan of carving my own space in this world. I publish my books and help others on their entrepreneur journeys. I provide graphic and web design services, publishing coaching, print and/or digital media production, and other resources. Currently, I am most known for my books, blogs, and crystal store located on my site diaryoffaith.com. However, I am steadily building my client roster, and will be a go-to for self-publishers in the future!

Pulling from my inner educator, I am most proud of giving my readers and clients the tools to build and empower their visions! My readers have the opportunity to read imaginative stories of self-awareness, love, trials, and triumph. As for my clients, whether they’re seeking personal or professional coaching, I’m here to help them see their goals through, even if they need an extra nudge here and there.

As an entrepreneur, I know that following your dreams can be a daunting process. And when you factor in a work, family, and school life, it can be even more difficult to envision. Infinite Faith Publishing meets you where you are, surveys your strengths and weaknesses, and helps you fill in your blanks. Therefore, helping you write the life story you want and deserve. There are infinite possibilities when you have infinite faith.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment of my career thus far would have to be seeing my daughter flip through our book, Great Rising! I thought my TRIGGER release soiree was amazing. But when my baby girl picked up Great Rising!, and pointed to the cover and said, “momma,” it melted my heart. I am a firm believer that representation matters. I am so thrilled to present to the world a children’s book that addresses positivity, peace, thankfulness, and togetherness.
