Today we’d like to introduce you to Felicia Williams.
Hi Felicia, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I took an early retirement package from Delta Airlines during the pandemic and was looking at entrepreneurship as my next step of my new journey of starting over. I had done research two years prior to the pandemic on the conversions of the TukTuk from Italy being used in various businesses such as mobile taps or a small flower shop retail displays. I fell in love with the size and the uniqueness of the conversions. The TukTuk as a mobile tap conversion was the best route for me as parties and events would always be on a calendar, especially here in the Atlanta area.
I’m attracted to novelty items because of the uniqueness when people are exposed to it the very first time. I researched how to get started and the cost was not overwhelming. I decided that now was the time to invest in myself.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has not been smooth by far! The biggest hurdle has been finding the right business coach that can guide me properly on setting up the correct nurturing systems. I find that many business coaches are somewhat new in their businesses and learning what to look for in finding the right guidance for me and how I want to run my business is a science itself. I find that there is a coach for every stage of business and knowing what stage you are in will determine who to look for to help you.
I have had to deal with Imposter Syndrome, what I later learned was simply the lack of confidence in my capabilities. This was a hard pill to swallow, when you are new to business you are advised to take inventory of what others in your line of business are doing and follow their lead. What they fail to mention is that this also an intimidating practice because these people are at stages in business that took time, and it is an overwhelming point to someone starting out. You feel like you can’t possibly compete and why would anyone deal with you being that you are new to this space. I had to learn that everyone is not you and showing up authentically will make your business stand out.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I started Felicia Marie Productions after a forced early retirement at the age of 46. I created a motivational speaking and consulting practice called Felicia Marie Motivates and I also have the Fe La Rue mobile taps for private and major events. I have always loved motivating women to go after their dreams and financial independency and would often get asked for help with this.
I have a degree in hospitality management, and with my experience from interning at Walt Disney World and working at the Ritz Carlton in New Orleans, I still had a love of that industry. I stumbled on the conversions being done to the TukTuk mini truck originally from Italy about three years prior to the pandemic. I did the math and studied the business model of the mobile taps conversion of the TukTuk mini truck and made the decision to bring the Fe La Rue mobile taps to the city of Atlanta, Ga. The Fe La Rue adds a uniqueness to any party. Its electric, indoor or outdoor capabilities, a novelty picture-perfect setup, and the ability to be customized for each event.
I want women in the 40+ club to understand that their dreams are just a decision away. I do not want any women to be told that when she decides to start living for herself that she is going through a midlife crisis, I want her to understand she is going through a midlife transformation.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Before you invest in coaches and mastermind classes, do you own research on the industry you are choosing so there are no surprises. Know your industry inside and out. When looking for a coach make sure to watch them before agreeing to work with them. Get testimonials on past clients so that you know they can deliver on what you need assistance on.
