Meet Grayson Pratt of Grayson Pratt Interiors in Buckhead

Today we’d like to introduce you to Grayson Pratt.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Grayson. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I always wanted to be an interior designer. I come from a family of creatives – 3 interior designers, a weaver, and an artist. I grew up in a home filled with family antiques and beautiful fabrics. In college, I studied interior design and architecture for 3 years, but oddly enough, graduated with a political science degree. After college, I worked as an in-store designer at a large furniture store in High Point, NC. In 2000, I moved to Atlanta to work in a showroom at ADAC (Atlanta Decorative Arts Center). About four years ago, after the birth of my daughter, I decided to pursue my dream and opened my own business.

Has it been a smooth road?
It’s been an incredible road, but I wouldn’t call it easy. Balancing the creative side with the business side is always a challenge. Then, of course, the work/life balance is difficult. When you own your business, you’re never truly off. Even with the challenges, there is nothing, other than family, that makes me happier.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Grayson Pratt Interiors story. Tell us more about the business.
I specialize in residential interior design, both new and established homes. My passion lies in designing homes that mix styles, patterns, and colors. I believe that’s how a client’s personality translates to their home. The thing that makes me most proud is seeing joy on my clients’ faces when they see the final design fully executed.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
For industry design trends, I see a move towards more color. The past few years have been very white and grey. Although I don’t see this completely disappearing, I see bold, fearless color coming back.
