Meet Marsha Rowe of Heavenly Beads & More in Augusta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marsha Rowe.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Marsha. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
From a young age, I was very fond of fashion & style and always wanted to be set apart in this area. While in High School I developed a passion for a variety of arts & crafts but never thought about pursuing it as a career. It wasn’t until after obtaining a degree in Political Science that jewelry design found me. In 2004, we were stationed in Texas, and before I ever made a design God gave me the name of the business, Heavenly Beads.

Soon after, I started doing a little research on jewelry design and decided to give it a try. I learned everything through trial and error, but when I finally completed my first piece of jewelry, I had such a feeling of accomplishment. I was excited and overjoyed and felt like I had found what I was meant to do, so in 2005 I started my business Heavenly Beads & More. I now thoroughly enjoy designing jewelry and learning new techniques. Creating something amazing, that originated as a thought, is very exhilarating, and it’s what keeps me on the edge of my seat, waiting to see what will be next!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I believe with any business there are smooth roads and bumpy roads and I have experienced both. Since I am a self-taught artisan, I had a huge learning curve, and at times the process was very frustrating, but the end result was so rewarding. I had a little business knowledge, but not everything that I needed to run my own company, so this too was a bit of a challenge. In business and jewelry design, I have found that things are constantly changing, therefore I’m constantly learning, and always ready for the next challenge.

Heavenly Beads & More – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Heavenly Beads & More is an online Jewelry Boutique, that specializes in one-of-a-kind timeless designs, that leave a lasting impression. I believe your jewelry is an extension of you, and it should invoke emotion. I believe it should be stylish, yet artistic and at the same time, it should be creative, yet comfortable. I truly believe it should make you feel luxurious, sophisticated, divine, & dare I say, Heavenly, and this is exactly, what Heavenly Beads does.

As a company, our proudest moment was when I was commissioned to design a gift for the renowned American novelist, Pulitzer Prize winner Alice Walker, this was truly an honor. I believe our best work is when we’re designing custom orders specifically for an individual. This is when we actually get to know the person we’re designing for, and make their piece fit their personality. The designs of Heavenly Beads are inspired by the divine beauty of nature, the creative free flow of art, and the luxurious feel of the vintage era. Each piece is meticulously designed with signature techniques, to create timeless wearable art. The jewelry of Heavenly Beads often attracts those who dare to be different, because of it’s exclusive qualities. Each piece is handcrafted in the USA, and the high quality of each design will ensure that each piece will remain timeless for years to come.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I believe, if you’re doing what you love while impacting the lives of others, you will find great success! Because we’ve been blessed we choose to be a blessing, 10% of every purchase is donated to charity, & for each event that we attend 20% of sales from that day will go to either a deserving charity, fundraiser, or someone in need!

I love Heavenly Beads. My daughter does not have pierced ears and it is hard to find desirable style for my teenager. She definitely loves to explain to Marsha the style she wants and Marsha always delivers the best product.
