Meet Imari Reynolds

Today we’d like to introduce you to Imari Reynolds.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Imari. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I am Imari Reynolds and I’m a working actor, writer, director, producer, and YouTuber. As a kid growing up in Detroit, I found myself working on something productive. The drawing was one of the biggest things because I was able to “create” in my own world. I had other activities I picked as well, like playing musical instruments and playing sports. Looking back, I didn’t realize these were talents that help shape me into the person I am today. Over time, I knew I wanted to dedicate my life’s as an entertainer.

Later in my career, I’ve attended a few schools in Detroit and Los Angeles to further my education in acting. To this day, I enjoyed the experiences I had working on monologues, scene study, improv, and audition techniques. Being in those classes created opportunities for me. I was blessed enough to book over 30 projects. You can catch some recent projects I’ve appeared in like, “Peace Be Steel”, “Ole BRYCE,” and “Buyer’s Remorse” on YouTube. There’s also more content releasing later this year.

Throughout this on-going journey, while balancing the acting career, I discovered another passion of mine, which is being an upcoming YouTuber. I’ve started back in early January of 2020. I’ve battled with this decision because it takes heart, putting yourself out there, but I love doing weekly vlogs, reactions, pranks, and challenges to entertain my fans. You can find me under “Day In The Life of Imari Reynolds” on YouTube. Everything is still progressing and I look to advance my career even further to another platform!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Some of those stops were insecurity, lack of funds, and simply not believing in myself. Over time, I’ve learned that not everyone will see or stand by the vision you have and I feel like those type of things happen, especially in this business. But, it’s how you handle it and overcome obstacles. As an entrepreneur, I made it my duty to keep pushing and make firm decisions to gain rewards in the long run. I’ve always heard the term, “this is not a race, it’s a marathon.” That puts fire into me to keep pushing and hopefully, it will move you, too.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
The best luck to have is great work ethic skills. The harder you work, the better results that will come for you. I’ve invested over five years into the industry and I’m gaining rewards slowly because of the time I took to network, work on projects, take training, and attending events.
