Today we’d like to introduce you to Isaac Gibson.
Isaac, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I have always knew I wanted to open my own business but didn’t know exactly what I wanted to do because I had so many ideas flowing through my head. In 2018, I graduated High school in Salisbury, NC where I received the rotary scholarship for college, I then enrolled into Catawba college in Salisbury, NC. And in my first year as a business major I faced many struggles and challenges as many college students do, I knew I couldn’t give up but situations I was facing said otherwise, I then didn’t re enroll in Catawba and at that point I was at a lost at what to do and after many dead end jobs I met my boyfriend who I then later moved in with and who kept encouraging me so I then got a job at Charlotte Douglas International airport as a passenger assistant and Enrolled in The known University of Phoenix.
When everything seemed to go well COVID -19 halted everything in the world and I was Furloughed and was stuck at home trying to get creative. Prior to this I had created a t shirt company KenSleaze which in my opinion ended up being a failure I wasn’t receiving the support and I gave up on me it so back to COVID-19 After I was called back to work I wanted to open my own business again and with all the support of my boyfriend and family’s encouragement I still was unsure about starting a business again after feeling as if I failed but I knew that I was created for something greater so I decided to create the _thatruicollection. Which has been selling and doing amazing at _Thatruicollection where I sell shades and purses and I want to tell everyone out there when the odds are against you never lose hope.
Has it been a smooth road?
Finically, I didn’t know if I could do it but I had support and made it happen, I faced many challenges of failure with my first business and being discouraged but, kept my faith in God and set my focus.

My business sells shades and purses. I am most proud of how well my business has done and how far I’ve come despite what cards I was given I still made it.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
In the next 5 to 10 years I see my _Thatruicollection with a store front in midtown Atlanta with more items.
