Meet Isaac Jones

Today we’d like to introduce you to Isaac Jones.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Isaac. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. Coming from a family with a musical background that ignited a spark to the talents within me and my love for music. I was always well rounded in sports and playing instruments in the band but singing and songwriting is where my heart was planted. In 2011, I became a writer for SESAC publishing, perfecting my craft.

During this time, I began to write and compose for various artists locally as well as in the industry. I’ve always been on the music scene as a background singer, singing for a plethora of artists in the gospel genre such as Vashawn Mitchell, Dorinda Clark Cole, Jason Nelson, Twinkie Clarke and various music ministries throughout the Birmingham area. Currently, I am a partner of a musical company called TurnMeUp Music group with my friend Johnny Wilson who is the founder where I have worked with various artist writing and arranging music for artists such as Brely Evans, Issac Ryan Brown, Kutklose, and many more.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road that brought me to this current place in business was very challenging but necessary for me to build determination on my journey. Working consistently trying to build myself and my career had a lot of rejection and failure, but I believe without those moments, I wouldn’t have made it to where I am today.

Can you give our readers some background on your music?
I’m a Christian artist, songwriter , and  vocal producer with a modern unique , R&B Churchy , – and hop-hop-influenced sound and attitude. I write music that encourages, inspires , and strengthens the soul that I believe is also the medicine that soothes during our moments of life . I was born singing in church with my siblings leading songs where a lot of my musical influences came from listening to artist like darryl coley, The Williams brothers, Kirk Franklin , and many more.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite childhood memory would have to be when I competed in the poetry festival, winning first place in the state, realizing at that point I had a gift in writing that I would one day be able to use.
