Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaleah Randolph.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Jaleah. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I was born and raised here in Atlanta, GA, and grew up in College Park. As a child, I was always interested in painting and drawing in whatever I could get my hands on. I would often ask my parents to buy me new paints and materials because I would run out of them so quickly. My artistic skills carried on throughout grade school, which led me to attend the Clayton County performing arts school known as Martha Ellen Stilwell School of the Arts.
There I majored in Visual Arts, under the study of Mrs. Samantha Robins and Mr. Jeremy LeMahieu, both amazing teachers who educated me more on the diverse world of art and showed me my full potential as an artist. Today I am studying Photography at Savannah College of Art and Design to major in Fashion Photography, to soon pursue my dream career as Editorial Director at PAPER Magazine. However, my intended major doesn’t stop me in my field. I have just as much talent and experience when it comes to photographing in any other type of artistic style.
Has it been a smooth road?
I would say starting college has definitely switched my priorities around, which gives me a little less time to build upon my current portfolio, but it hasn’t stopped me from coming up with new ideas and taking on new challenges.
We’d love to hear more about your work.
I haven’t fully started my business yet, but as soon as I do I can’t wait to go through that journey.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Atlanta is a perfect place to start out in a business similar to mine. Even if you have no relation to working with a camera, starting any sort of business here in Atlanta is amazing. There are so many different people here in this city that anything you put out there is bound to have some sort of attraction.
