Today we’d like to introduce you to Janelle Martínez-Cruz.
Janelle, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Everything started because I was being bullied. I had a passion for art, so my mom bought my first acrylic paint set and encouraged me to create what I felt. I was able to cope with my feelings and create. A year later, my first collection called, “I have Survived” was featued in a gallery show located in Grant Park, GA. Then, FroggieFlor came to life.
FroggieFlor now sells art prints and original art. I also do Handlettering and Calligraphy for events.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been easy. I’m in College and sometimes it’s tough to balance everything but, my love for art makes me push through. Also, my mom keeps me going. She is a total Mom Boss.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about FroggieFlor – what should we know?
FroggieFlor specializes in Handlettering and a calligraphy for Weddings and events. I also love to create watercolor floral paintings. What sets me apart is how I mix vivid watercolors with pen and ink. It’s a combination that I have fallen in love with. Also, I love to share my passion with others so I host private/group workshops.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Being humble can take you a long way. Also confidence. I love the saying, “She believed she could so she did.” It’s a true girl boss quote.
