Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Butler and Porshia Williams.
Jasmine and Porshia, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
The name BUT.HER came to life back in 2016 by a group of 2 bestfriends. We were watching one of our favorite shows and something was said that caught our attention. BUT.HER has stuck ever since!
It wasn’t until February of 2019 that we wanted to really put our heads down and take it seriously that got us to where we are now. After having separated and moving around, we finally settled and started to get organized. In March of 2019, we put our business out to the world. We had created our social media sites, gotten all of our legal stuff out the way, and now finally launched.
BUT.HER is the girl who rocks statement pieces which is why we love our slogan.

Our Official Launch was July 19, 2019, and we are so excited to begin our journey offering our customers a shopping destination to Conquer their day and SLAY their night!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
There has definitely been obstacles and challenges we have faced during this journey. The first thing is each individual having their one life and priorities so it was hard to stay organized and be on the same page. There was also the challenges of not knowing where to start, what order to do things in, and which legal objectives needed to be taken care of first. Thankfully, with research and planning, we were able to get through our obstacles. Even now, the obstacles we face are marketing and getting our business out to more people. We know planning, organizing, and staying ahead is how we will succeed.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about BUT.HER – what should we know?
BUT.HER is a leading online retailer of Women’s Fashion Apparel offering the latest fashion trends. BUT.HER was created by two best friends for women who are a lot like themselves. The everyday girl who wants to Conquer the day and SLAY the night!
BUT.HER women have two sides, kind of like an alter ego. Our Lady by day is conquering that 9 to 5, making boss moves as an entrepreneur, or out for brunch with friends. Our Bae by night is turning heads with bae or slaying with the girls. Whatever the case may be, BUT.HER has you covered.
So, as you see, BUT.HER Baes can be classy and chic, or sexy and sassy. Whatever the mood, BUT.HER exists to make women look bold and feel confident. Forever evolving, forever chic!

We are most proud of the fact we have been self-sufficient throughout our journey. Outside of shooting a video with other professionals we have done everything on our own. It has been a two woman show from taking website photos, building the website, designing emails, marketing, etc. We have literally built everything on our own without outside help or promotions. We are just proud of where that alone has gotten us thus far.

We have had huge support from our family and friends. Together, they have helped in liking, engaging, and sharing our post. They have really helped in getting the word out and cheering us on. They all know who they are! 🙂
