Today we’d like to introduce you to Jay Vinson.
Jay, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama. I was brought up in church since I was a little kid in Tuskegee, Alabama, and as I began to get into my teenage years, I became a Sunday School teacher as I taught my peers every week in which that prepared me to be an ordained minister of the Gospel when I was 15 years of age. As I became a Senior in High school at 17 years of age and even after graduating High School, I was working at the local YMCA and fell in love with tutoring and mentoring the students I was working with after school. To my surprise, I received many compliments from my work which then led me to continue tutoring and mentoring the youth at the YMCA throughout my time in undergraduate school at Auburn University. After I graduated from Auburn University, I moved to the metro Atlanta area to work as an Editor for one of the major sports production companies in the southeast region until I went back to work on my master’s degree at University of West Georgia. During my time at UWG I worked in the athletic department with the video production staff for the football team.
As I was working on completing my master’s degree, I mentored several of my younger cousins some who have already graduated high school and one who is currently a Senior in High School in which he is currently apart of the National Honors Society. My mom and aunt would always tell me how talented I was with working with the youth and that I should work in the education field. So, after I graduated from University of West Georgia with my master’s degree, I began to work in the education field in the Metro Atlanta area as a Middle School and currently now a High School educator. Even throughout my time working as an educator, I still managed to work with multiple Collegiate and Professional sports production Companies as a camera operator and video board replay operator on game days. As being a faith-based leader, and author I have coached several of individuals find their God-given purpose and that has played a huge part of my ministry as I had seen those results come to fruition. Now, at the age of 29, I decided to take a leap of faith of becoming a business owner which specializes in different areas. The name of my business is JJV Enterprises and Jay Vinson Ministries Inc.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Has it been smooth? No way! When I started my business this year early part of 2020, I had no idea that our country would be hit by a pandemic of COVID19. So, I had to pivot and change my entire plans with my business. With me being a more hands on type of person, I had to learn how to pivot part of my business to the online platform. But, the good part is that I had a few business owners who coached me through the process with how to start part of my business online. My goal is to make sure that my clients are 120% satisfied with my services that I offer online. Regardless of how some clients may be difficult to work with, you always want to provide the best service and have loyal clients or customers.

I am most proud of how far I’ve come as an individual and what the future has in store for me. I am currently restructuring the phase of my business with a new look to attract more corporate level clientele along with adding more online platforms for my business.
Most of my customers will say that I am an effective listener as well as respond back to emails or messages in a fast and timely manner. I believe that’s what sets me apart from others.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
It has to be going to Disney World in Orlando, Florida with my family during the time my older brother college football team was playing in the capitol one citrus bowl. With that being my first time going to Disney World and Orlando, I really enjoyed my time from all the different events my family and I did at DisneyWorld to the football game and meeting most of my brother teammates for the first time that season.
