Meet Jennifer Johnson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Johnson.

Hi Jennifer, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started doing hair back 2001 when I went College. My friends were my models & I stayed dedicated in perfecting my craft. I began working on clients at my home in 2011 & I started attending Miller Motte Technical college to pursue a career in Cosmetology. I graduated in 2012 with a 3.8 average. I then began working in various salons as a booth renter & launched my virgin hair company in 2014. After three years of working in the hair industry, I opened my very 1st Salon. Unfortunately, after working in my salon a year, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. This illness tried to set me back big time. I wasn’t able to walk, write or use my hands correctly for over a year. I never gave up & I eventually regained my strength by doing one client a day. I kept pushing & doors started opening for me. I always wanted to start my own Haircare products & hot tools line & I finally did so in the spring of 2017. Then I was blessed to open up my second chance salon two years later in 2019. Opening Glam House Salon & Beauty Bar has been the best decision ever!! Since then, I have expanded my brand by instructing Haircare classes, Business 101 classes & hosting pop up shops in my city.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My health has been a struggle after being diagnosed but I keep positive no matter what.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a Master Cosmetologist & Salon Owner. I specialize in natural hair, silk press, weaving & short hair styling. I believe in healthy hair 1st.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
My salon was named Salon of the Year 2021! What a great accomplishment.
