Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeremy Reese.
Hi Jeremy, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was born and lived majority of my life in Selma, AL. I never knew that I wanted to do hair growing up. I was always one to play video games and work on computers. When I graduated high school, I enrolled at UAH in Huntsville studying Computer Engineering. I learned quick that this was not my passion and I had to find something that was for me.
After leaving Huntsville, I moved to Montgomery, AL where I would start my hair journey. I enrolled at South Eastern School of Cosmetology where I learned the art of Cosmetology. Every summer, I would travel to ATL to study learn different hair techniques that was not taught at school. I was like a sponge soaking up all the information that I could. Upon graduation, I continued to learn all I could, taking classes to perfect my craft.
While still in the early stages of being a hairstylist, I continued my education and became an elementary school teacher. Teaching and doing hair simultaneously is not easy. There are many times when I want to quit but I keep on pushing and moving forward.
Let’s fast forward to 2019. I started N-Chanted Tresses. N-Chanted Tresses is a luxury online extension and wig company. My company services all 50 states. The mission of my company is to make luxury hair available and affordable to the public. I have loved the experience thus far and hopefully, I can continue to inspire and make more people feel N-Chanted.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road. One thing that you need to learn when entering the hair business is that it is a big risk. You may or make not make the money you need. When starting out, people are skeptical about coming and sitting in your chair. Building new clientele is difficult when you have nothing to show for yourself.
The good thing about today’s society is that we have Facebook, TikTok, IG, and other modes of social media. That has really worked for me. I get more clients from social media than any other source. A good picture and video will speak volumes for your business.
Another obstacle that will come your way is learning that all money is not good money. Sometimes you have to dismiss clients no matter how much they are paying. Being a hairstylist is a mutual situation and both parties must treat each other with respect and maintain professionalism. Although I am a straightforward person, I am not hard to get along with.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
N-Chanted Tresses is a luxury bundle and wig company. Although the company is mostly online, we have one physical location thus far and are looking to expanding to the ATL area soon. The vision for my company is to provide luxury hair to all people at an affordable price. Everyone deserves the right to look great and we are here to help.
Although we specialize in lace units, we also do natural hair as well. We hope to have a service that everyone can benefit from.
At N-Chanted Tresses, we believe in giving back. We want to be able to give to various charities as well as start a scholarship fund for graduating seniors.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
When looking for a mentor, you need to make sure the person has the same interest as you do. Also, make sure that they share the same vision as you. They can only guide you in the direction that you should go. It is up to you to make the first step. You have to put in the work and time to bring your vision to life.
