Meet Jessica Bencomo of Jessica Bencomo Events

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Bencomo.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Jessica. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I have always had a love for event planning. I love parties, I love the memories we make with loved ones at special events. I have always been that mom that goes a little over the top for her kid’s birthday parties. I planned my own wedding and I absolutely loved it. I think what I loved the most about it was having so many of my loved ones in the same room at once. I had family fly in from Florida, Venezuela, and France. My husband’s family flew down from Michigan.

I am also a flight attendant for a major US carrier. When I was out on maternity leave with my middle child I wondered if I would be able to return to flying. I started thinking of what else I could do, that I could possibly love as much as flying. The one thing that kept coming up in my mind was wedding and event planning. I love seeing two people coming together as one, surrounded by their loved ones. I knew I wanted to help as many people as I could create the best memories with their loved ones.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been smooth. I have been blessed in many different ways. However, the wedding industry is a hard one. Many times inexperienced competitors will underbid you and it can get discouraging. I originally started this business with the hope that it would grow large enough to where I could bring my mom to work with me. However, her health has been on a steady decline as of lately and it is hard to watch my business grow and know that she may not be a part of it.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Jessica Bencomo Events – what should we know?
My business is Jessica Bencomo Events. I am a wedding and event planner in the Atlanta and North Georgia area. I am known for going above and beyond for my clients. I am proud of the fact that every single client I have worked for has become more than just a client. I truly try to bond with my clients. I try to listen to them and what their needs and wants are. I tell all my clients that I have planned plenty of events for myself. I want to plan THEIRS. I try to really listen to what is important to them and I try to bring their visions to life.

I believe in creating memories and experiences. I always keep this quote in mind when planning events:

“At the end of the day people won’t remember what you said or did, they will remember how you made them feel.”

― Maya Angelou

Therefore I try to create the best experiences for my clients. I want everyone to feel surrounded by love and happiness on their special day.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Passion- I live and breathe weddings. I love what I do. Because I love what I do so much I pour my heart and soul into my events. There is no do-over when a bride walks down the aisle. We have one chance to get it right, therefore I give my all to everything that I do.
