Today we’d like to introduce you to John Stringer.
Thanks for sharing your story with us John. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Given my mother started me off singing as early as I can remember, music has always been a part of my life. Though my mother would only let us listen to “Christian” or instrumental music growing up, I would listen to popular music without her knowledge and tape some of my favorite songs. My older sister, Caprice and I would memorize songs from artists like LL Cool J, UTFO, The Deele and others with the tapes we’d make whenever our mother wasn’t home. By the time I got to my junior year in high school, I had learned guitar and would co-lead the worship music during our assemblies at Chattanooga Christian School, the high school I returned to in 10th grade. I used my guitar as a way to pray as well whenever I was feeling down and this continued through college, first at West Point (USMA) and then Morehouse college where I joined my first band.
By my senior year of college, I left and continued pursuing music, founding a label during my 3rd band and gaining an investor for about half a million. We toured the world, got endorsements and had a top 10 Billboard charting single, until May of 2009, when our investor defaulted on our agreement. That was the perfect opportunity for me to decide to stop touring given my wife and I had a newborn son in June of 2009.
I co-founded an artist development/tech company called Indiehitmaker.com to help artists do what my band had done and chart on the Billboard charts and eventually left that company and the digital marketing agency I was working for as Director of Marketing in 2015, so I could return to music, public speaking and sharing the life lessons I’d learned through spiritual teaching and channeling. I’ve been blessed to teach awareness and alignment using music to corporate leaders from companies like Microsoft, NASA, ESPN, SunTrust and many more via BandingPeopleTogether.com and I’ve been honored to be a part of a best selling book series with my wife called Adventures in Manifesting: Love and Oneness. I’ve released two solo CDs ( Limitless Love & Light and Moment to Moment) published my first self-published book, The Abundance Vibration and co-launched a spiritual membership site called MasterMomentMakers.com recently and it’s all been from following the guidance/inspired action I receive through meditation/alignment.
The journey continues to expand and we have been blessed to see miracles unfold.. from reuniting with my first-born daughter, to playing my first concert at Agape International… so many blessings!
Has it been a smooth road?
The most challenging part of the journey has been letting go of suffering… getting to the place where I can recognize what I’m choosing by way of thoughts and energy/vibration and aligning so, I can consciously choose differently in a way that better serves my desires! The way I’ve learned to do this is a practice called alignment to align with source, knowing, spirit, God, etc.. and I share this practice with others. It’s been a powerful blessing and life changing practice to help me experience peace, knowing and helped me create so many wonderful experiences. So, getting distracted from aligning (e.g. consciously being) is the challenge I’ve been practicing releasing most!
We’d love to hear more about your business.
Besides living the practices I use from moment to moment, I do my best to just BE in a state of alignment and then DO what I’m inspired to. So far, that has included healing (emotional and energetic); recording and singing music/concerts; channeling (inner being/source/higher consciousness/genius); speaking and singing at spiritual centers, conferences, festivals and retreats; hosting retreats and workshops; writing books, publishing online courses and helping other artists. My wife and I have also began a boutique management company as well to help music artists and speakers and I also mentor artists. I’m also being guided to help with creating intentional community neighborhoods, so excited to see how that unfolds as well!
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Yes and yes! Atlanta has a great population of those seeking to discover how to live a more abundant life on every level and many are open to messages of empowerment – messages that point to the truth of our oneness, perfection and power. Though, I’d also add anywhere you align and began to share the abilities that come through you from source is a good place to be! Since I’m in Atlanta, I’ve enjoyed doing so here, thanks to the wonderful spiritual communities like SLCA, Unity North, Unity South, One World, Trinity Center for Spiritual Living, The Shrine of the Black Madonna, Northstar Church, Living Truth 365, CSL Midtown, UUCA and others!
