Today we’d like to introduce you to Juliet Thomas – Kamau.
Juliet, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I grew up loving all things Disney (like every other kid), but my first trip to Disneyland wasn’t until my teenage years. My first trip to Walt Disney World was much later on with a few sorority sisters and I fell in love with the magical experience I had there. After visiting that year, I made it my mission to visit every year. In 2016, I noticed on social media that I friend of mine was a Travel Agent for a company that specialized in planning Disney vacations! For true Disney lovers like myself, planning Disney vacations are half of the fun! I thought what a great job that would be. Plus, I love all things travel so it seemed like the perfect fit. I then reached out to my friend and later on that year, I was officially brought onto the Wishdrawals Travel team. I have been planning magical vacations for families ever since!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
This is a side business for me that I hope to one day turn into my full time gig. While my business has grown tremendously throughout the past few years, I would love to service more clients! One particular struggle has been making sure my potential clients know and understand that my services are completely free, but only when a trip is booked through me and my travel agency. Travel Agents are paid on a trip basis, not an hourly rate or salary. Disney, Universal, and other travel companies love to partner with travel agents to help their guests be able to experience hassle free travel! Therefore, they pay us only when we are booking those trips! The cost of the trip(s) is the same so you have nothing to lose (only to gain) and would be supporting a small business. Another area that I am continuing to strengthen is using Social Media and Marketing tools and knowing your audience which is so important! I am still learning how to best market my business and services to those who would benefit from using me most!

I specialize in not only Walt Disney World vacations, but also Disney Cruise Line, Disneyland, Adventures By Disney, Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort, Disney’s Vero Beach Resort, Universal Studios Orlando, Universal Studios Hollywood, SeaWorld, and even Royal Caribbean Cruise Line.
