Meet Kai Bell of Kai Bell Collection in Buckhead

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kai Bell.

Kai, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I actually started “Kai Bell Collection” while still being a fitness/underwear model and a personal trainer here in Atlanta. Today, I still have my personal training Brand, but felt the need to start my own swim line.

In April of 2015, I launched “Kai Bell Collection” which at that time mainly focused on swimwear. The brand actually generated a huge demand and buzz within the community that we sold out 2 major styles within 48 hours.

Currently, we’re going into 2018 which will be our 3rd year, and we’re excited about the line that we’re presenting to the consumer.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
This road has been far from smooth. Being a small businessman, running a swim line and a personal training company truly takes a great deal of time and commitment.

One of the largest issues in owning a brand, is just trying to get through the door at local boutiques within the city. It can be frustrating because it feels like a never-ending cycle. So you learn to walk away, make your brand one that customers now ask to see and request, and let the boutique see your work flourish.

Kai Bell Collection – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
The Kai Bell Swimwear collection is dedicated to showcasing “The Art” of the male form while prominently displaying a fashionable persona. Featuring brilliant fabrics, patterns and incorporating top quality and unique nylon, spandex and cotton blend fabrics, The KB Collection ensures “The Man” an Artistic extreme fit.

Being the Owner & Designer I’m challenged with envisioning new looks and cuts for the swim line. I’m fortunate in once working as a swimwear/underwear model, that I can apply the knowledge of running a line towards the betterment of my Brand.

I can truly say that the proudest moment I’ve had over the last 3 years has been watching the Brand grow by leaps and bounds. When you’re getting calls, text, and DM’s asking you “when is the new line coming out” or when you log on social media and see some of the most influential people on social media wearing your product……. it makes you beyond proud.

By giving our customer varied patterns and unique cuts, it separates us from the competition.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
For me, success is only defined by ensuring your latest collection/line is just as good or even better as your last. I overly critique and review every fabric choice, but for me, it’s never enough. Although I may feel good about my choices and decisions, I actually run them past a very good friend who also owns a Fashion Brand.

I believe sometimes you need a fresh set of eyes to review, just to make sure you’re constantly on the right track.
