Meet Kaye Ginsberg of Peace of Mind Transitions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaye Ginsberg.

Kaye, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My story begins in New York City, where I worked in advertising and publishing for ten years. I was the Marketing Director of Conde Nast Traveler magazine but was traveling more than I wanted – having to leave two young children too often. My husband was offered a great job in Atlanta, so we moved here in 1992 and I gratefully took the opportunity to focus on raising our now three children.

About the time our kids were becoming more independent, my mother started needing help and care. I truly became a part of the ‘sandwich generation’. My mother ended up needing to move to an assisted living community in Maryland and together we experienced all the decisions and stress involved in making a senior move. After going through the experience with my mother, I realized that I could use my knowledge and experience to help other people in the same situation. I joined NASMM, the National Association of Senior & Specialty Move Managers, completed their training and certification courses. Peace of Mind Transitions was created with the goal of helping older adults and their families through the entire relocation process.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I doubt that starting a business from scratch is ever a smooth road. I think the biggest struggle initially was understanding the senior care community in Atlanta and meeting the right people.

Peace of Mind Transitions – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I’m very proud of the high-level service we provide our clients. Our services include floor planning, downsizing and organizing, packing, move management, unpacking and completely organizing the new home. Our clients can literally leave their old, completely settled home and move into their new, completely settled home.

While our initial focus was on senior clients, we have expanded our client base to anyone going through a relocation. Our membership in NASMM gives us connections in other states/cities so we can ensure a smooth relocation in/out of the Atlanta area. We also manage estate clear-outs, which may include shipping items to family in other states, connecting our clients with trusted sources to sell items not moving with them, organizing free charity pick-ups and as a last resort, trash removal. Through the entire process, our team is professional and compassionate-we understand how difficult this transition can be for anyone at any age.
