Today we’d like to introduce you to Kayla Crosby.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started blogging back in 2014, and it was just a fun creative outlet for me! I originally went to school for Fashion Design but since there aren’t many design opportunities in Atlanta, I ended up having to change industries. I was really sad that I couldn’t work in the field I was most passionate about, so I started blogging to fill that void. And it just transitioned into this awesome side job that I love!
Has it been a smooth road?
There have been a few bumps in the road along the way. I actually have rebranded twice since I first started in 2014. I didn’t create Pumps and Pouts until 2016, but it took some time for me to find the right brand and the direction I wanted to go in. I think now my biggest struggle is trying to maintain a blog and social media while working a full-time job. Blogging is a full-time job so it’s been tough trying to plan my content and shoots in between times.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Pumps and Pouts – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I am a blogger/brand influencer of Pumps and Pouts, and it is a fashion, beauty and lifestyle blog where I share all of my #LatestObsessions. So, anything I find obsession-worthy within skin care, makeup, cooking recipes, DIY projects, fashion trends, and home decor, I’m sharing it! The brands I work with are usually brands that I love using all the time or know that I am going to love using all the time. I love when my readers are just as excited about fun things and products as I am! I also have a little small merch store on my blog as well!
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I was born and raised here, I will always love Atlanta! But I love that there is literally something for everybody in this city. Love the music scene? We got it! A foodie? Tons of restaurants and tons of different cuisines to try. Plenty of outdoor activities and fun nightlife!
The only thing that I really dislike about our city, which is on everyone’s list, is the traffic. lol And that I hope they don’t completely get rid of all the older, beautiful buildings for new high rises. It takes away from Atlanta’s Southern charm.
