Today we’d like to introduce you to Kessey Cham.
Kessey, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I grew up in New Jersey for 17 years before my family and I shifted from an atmosphere I knew to a foreign land after a vacation; Georgia! I went from a 3.4 GPA in high school to something ridiculous because of some math class. A chance for a new start but already failing. My father got me a tutor immediately and told me to push through my senior year to graduate because there was a better life waiting for me after college… SIKE! I successfully graduated and had almost 6.5 years of new struggles ahead. I attained my Associates Degree at GA Perimeter in biological science and told myself why did I pick science. Well, Dr. Newman, my chemistry teacher in West Orange High School broke it down and made it fun! With him in mind, I continued my education at my Alma Mater Georgia State University where I was a biology major then switched to chemistry with him in mind and hearing all the possibility of jobs in the field. A little over two years later, I crawled my way to the finish line with a 2.42 with my Bachelors in Chemistry! Why I am I bragging about a 2.42, well I made it and found my passion in that struggle. I have always wanted to help people achieve greatness or help them learn new information since I was little. Whatever knowledge I knew; it was going to be shared. Here I am sharing my knowledge of Organic Chemistry, never wanting to be on this platform. Then, I remember the career test I took in 5th grade, said I was going to be a teacher; how ironic!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Academic probation, GPA at a 1.87, supposed friends who broke my spirit and almost made me quit, early 4 am mornings, late tutoring 1 am nights, people saying I can’t work and be an entrepreneur and yet I’ve done it all. No, it wasn’t smooth!! I had to work hard for everything I have. My students can attest the hard roads. I almost quit about 4 good times, but I wouldn’t just be quitting on me but my students. I believe I could change them and in time their t was them that changed me. I will never forget when an ex-best friend came to my job and spoke horrible things to me. My spirit broke! I called another friend who helped me straighten my crown and told me to rise and claim my platform.
No journey in life will ever be easy. As you elevate, the air will get thin and not everyone can survive. I would tell an entrepreneur and student the view midway is so beautiful but imagine what it is at the top! There is no smooth path when you’re expanding your knowledge and territory. The struggles are worth the reward.

I want to expand and help build students along the way with skills in and out of the classroom to succeed.
We want to hire students who have the heart to help. It would be great if you did well in the course and you could be and an influencer to the next generation. This company is starting with Organic and General chemistry but the goal is to include all STEM courses, financial freedom, and education, resume building skills and a platform for students with trades to elevate their business and their minds. I will be the essential one-stop-shop with valuable information towards your elevation.
I have met the most intrinsic students throughout my journey. Those who were misinformed by advisors including myself and those who were almost steered down the wrong path until I provided not only the service of tutoring but life skills and organizational tools that have helped my former students, now friends succeed in medical school, pharmacy school, dental schools, and others. I was allowed to help mold their path not just for the pre-medical field but life! Some choose to become teachers, some nurses, the fields of success were a large range. Everything started with a path of pre-med and I helped them follow their heart, not their parents. I want my students to come out of this business knowing the compassion of knowing the pressure that the classroom and family bring are genuine concerns but I’m here to support them fully in a variety of aspects.
I’m different because my heart exudes understanding of a student. I may have sat un your seat and graduated over a decade ago, but I’m in it with you from start to finish, tears with frustration, mental pep talks. and motivational speeches to get you across the finish line. It’s my gift and passion. You won’t go wrong coming to me!
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Fear and those who spoke down to me crippled me temporarily. I knew my gift and didn’t make a big enough leap of faith on myself. I let my GPA and grades tell me I wasn’t good enough. Then I remember someone telling me, “Do their opinions pay your bills?”, “Should fear try to stop you from being great?”, “What do you have to lose from trying?” It took years to build up the strength, it took investing in myself, sacrifices mentally, emotionally, and financially and now nothing else will stop me. Adversity will always knock at my door and I choose to answer it and welcome it in because I will not be intimidated; I found myself.
I am thankful for a supportive family and work mom who always told me to continue to hustle towards my goals. They have seen me on the verge of giving up, the late nights and early morning sacrifices to serve others while being in school and maintaining a full-time job.
I am thankful for my two mentors Dr. JC and Dr. PV and close friends who first told me not to fear what others think and supported me over the decade I have done this.
Last but not least my students! They are out here succeeding and have pushed me for years to elevate and have told me not to let fear kept me down. Thank you for speaking to my soul and this will begin the journey or greatness you all saw in me for years. The best has yet to come.
