Hi Keyondra, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hospitality is where it all started. I had the absolute joy of working in hotels and managing a team. I focused a lot on my staff and the guests of these establishments. I used that same gusto in this business. Keeping in mind that the golden rule will always hold true – treat others how you would like to be treated.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Of course not. What’s the fun in a smooth road? Challenges are for showing your skills and learning along the way. Some of the struggles along the way was asking the right questions when it comes to city ordinances. When you do not ask the right questions, it could cost you. The end result is to just pivot and get connected with the right people who can assist you.

Luminous Gatherings Event Space is a 2,000 square feet white open space used to host the most intimate events. The open space provides opportunities to transform and highlight creativity. What sets us apart is our high-exposed ceilings, lighting and location. Luminous Gatherings is the best place to host baby showers, milestone birthday parties, workshops, classes, pop-up shops and more. I am most proud of the connections made with talented event planners and vendors who have transformed the space and put a smile on the guest of honor face when they enter.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Family matters the most to me. This business is a family business. There have been many times where I had to bring my little people to the space for tours. My better half – Derrick is assisting with setups and breakdowns and just overall moral support. Family keeps this engine going and I am very thankful to have family in this endeavor. I am also very thankful for the clients and vendors that have now joined our family and have shared Luminous Gatherings Event Space with others.
