Today we’d like to introduce you to Kiara Hill.
Hi Kiara, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I took a nail class back in 2019 and I was doing nails out of my mother’s house. Once covid hit I stopped doing nails then I started back a month or two later. I eventually stopped doing nails again because my mother no longer wanted anyone coming to her home. I stopped doing nails in the middle/end of 2020 and I tried to give it a try again at the beginning of 2021 but no one was booking. I was pregnant during this time so I decided once I have my baby that I was going to give it a try one more time. Although I had to take a BIG risk by getting a suite with my friend with NO CLIENTELE at all. We have been in the suite almost two months now and my clientele is still not where I would like it to be. Some weeks I get no clients at all and have to pay out of pocket for my suite and I look at that as a loss. When I do get to do nails I still have to use that to pay my suite. I just want my clientele to actually build up, nails is something I really enjoy doing. I keep so unmotivated so much there is no one booking me for real.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Not being booked up, paying suite without making any profit, having no clientele whatsoever.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am an Atlanta nail tech. I’m most proud of my progress with nails. I have become so much better and hearing people tell me this just keeps me motivated and going. I think what set me apart from others is I don’t overset my prices, I think I have the best prices for my quality work plus nail supplies isn’t cheap!! I also just started offering pedicures in 2022 because not too many nail techs here in Atlanta offer pedicures
