Today we’d like to introduce you to Kierah Blythe.
Hi Kierah, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
All my life I loved taking pictures. I love memories, so it’s always been very important to capture the moment. My family has generations of photo albums that I would just look at and admire. I love the vintage & vibrant look of photos so that’s when shooting film came into the way. In high school, I use to collect film cameras that I trifted just to sit on my desk because they look so cool. I had no idea the potential I would have. During quarantine ( May 2020) is when I actually began to shooting film.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Everything is a learning experience. There are times where I lose creativity or shoot blank rolls, but other than that I’ve grown so much and will continue to grow. The best roads in life are definitely windy & bumpy with potholes.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Im Film Photographer in Metro Atlanta. Currently, I am shooting 35mm film, but I have dabbled a little into 120 film and working my way into medium format cameras. Haha, I’m really known for being the girl with the old film camera collection. I’m mostly proud of capturing the rawness of real-life things. I like realness. I believe the world is so fabricated, so someone must capture the real beauty behind the madness. What separates me from others is that I don’t aim for perfection, I aim for authenticity.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
I just wanna shout out to all my family and friends they are truly my muses. They love and support me so much so it’s really s/o to them. They always trust the process & are always pushing me to step outside the box.
