Meet Kim Monroe of Faith Impression Photography in Downtown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kim Monroe.

Kim, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I am a Visual Story Teller, specializing in Photography & Videography.

For as long as I could remember, I have been captivated by most forms of art & media.

As a little girl I was fascinated with creating stories, I love to draw and as I got older that interest evolved into my love for photography and creating visual stories.

I was raised by a single father after my mother passed away at a young age.

I didn’t know how to express my pain after losing my mother, so I would draw and create stories.

I knew that couldn’t necessarily change or erase the bad memories but I could create good ones.

I believe I found my purpose in my pain.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road however I have learned to fully embrace every part of the journey.

In pursuit of purpose I believe there will always be resistance, trials, & setbacks but if you want it you’ve got to be resilient.

Along the way I’ve experienced many setbacks & learned a few hard lessons along the way however it has made me more prepared, confident and wiser.

I encourage everyone with a dream to never become a slave to the perceptions of others, the first thing you must be secure in is your identity. There is something unique about you that no one else has, in a over saturated creative field you have to be confident in your unique creative ability.

I’ll be honest, one of the hardest lessons I had to learn was establishing boundaries within the confines of business and protecting my brand.

Unfortunately you do have to be aware of your circle, some of the people you want to be around for the journey are the very ones you may not be able to take with you. Be wise about who you share your dreams with, everyone doesn’t want to see you win.

Please tell us about Faith Impression Photography.
Faith Impression Photography was established in 2011.

I am a Visual Storyteller, first and foremost.

When it comes to photography, it all starts with the people. I believe connection and a building strong relationship is the foundation for creating quality images that tell a story that resonates.

My approach is driven by my clients’ unique story!

I believe in prompting not posing, my style is elegant, natural and magazine-worthy.

Each image is created with a balance of creative attention to detail and a photo journalistic style.

Faith Impression is known for creative quality images and exceptional service.

Faith Impression will be relaunching in early 2020, offering more services such as: Branding/Advertising Services, Videography & Film.

What Sets US Apart?
I believe anyone can take a nice traditional portrait but it takes someone with additional training, a creative mindset and years of experience to produce creative quality images that resonate with your audience.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I had to start over, I would do a lot of things different.

However I do believe without the lessons & setbacks I wouldn’t have been prepared for whats next.

I’ve learned that direction/vision is more important than speed.
