Hi Krystal, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Vznryz, which is pronounced (Visionaries), is a digital marketing agency that started in California with my business partner Caly Williams in a music studio with talented and creative marketing individuals that quickly expanded nationwide. The initial goal of Vznryz was to provide affordable marketing to music artists to help them build, drive brand awareness, and teach the artist how to truly make money from their music. Although Vznryz started as a music marketing agency, we have expanded by adding a small business marketing segment with the same mission to give small businesses affordable marketing and help all entrepreneurs make a living off their dreams. The mission has always been to bring our client’s vision to life through a series of organic marketing strategies. We give our clients a custom-built campaign that drives support and traction to their business and music and provides resources to ensure their goals are reached at a budget suitable for them. Our proudest moments are when we get clients in the music industry with plans to be recognized by industry leaders, and those goals are accomplished with the help of our marketing. It is beautiful and fulfilling to know that we genuinely provide services to help people with their passion.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It wasn’t an easy start. Often, we would get clients who thought marketing wasn’t essential and that by just releasing products or music, someone “big” would eventually notice and bring their audience/customers to them. This type of thinking is like buying a lottery ticket for a dollar and hoping to hit the billion-dollar jackpot. There is a chance it will happen, but it is 1 in a million. Most people don’t understand that it takes a team to build an empire. The marketer’s job is to put people in front of you, but the client’s job is to turn those people into supporters through authenticity and consistency.
The second most challenging part is remotivating a client who may be giving up on their dream before coming to us for marketing. We encourage our clients that all goals, whether music or small business are possible, and we will do all that we can to help. Too often, entrepreneurs find themselves in a position where those around them don’t support them—causing those entrepreneurs to struggle financially and making it harder for them to reach their dreams. Lack of support can be problematic for anyone when staying motivated.
