Krystal, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I always made pepper sauce it is a staple in every west-indian household. The business began when I was living in Terre Haute, Indiana. Not having access to traditional Caribbean food, I began cooking various cuisines but really crafted my recipe for my pepper sauce as a business.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Not a smooth road at all. It took both a financial investment and a time investment. A lot of the struggle is knowing where to find the information for free! everyone wants to charge for their information. I strongly agree that you need to know your business from the ground up of the hands-on learning is super important for your success. You have to love what you do or it will begin to wear you down.

I am the CEO of WWW.KRYSTAALSPEPPERS.COM where we provide you with the authentic flavors from the Caribbean with our sauces. We make pepper sauce, green seasoning, and will be launching a tamarind sauce. We are known for our pepper sauce. As a company I am most proud of how far the company has grown and continues to grow. The look on people’s faces when they try the sauce. And the thank you when people see the convenience in the green seasoning prep. I love making people lives easier. I love helping. I guess that’s what sets us apart from other stores. Authenticity!
What were you like growing up?
I was always the one caught with their hand in the cookie jar. I didn’t do well with breaking the rules. growing up with a father running his own business I got the hands-on experience of what it took to be my own boss but went the road most travelled and got a 9-5. After working for several major corporations and getting fired for not being able to adapt to the cut throat corporate way of doing business. I enjoy cooking, reading, swimming, music & spending quality time with my family and friends.
