Hi Lakesha, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My passion has always been helping others. I’ve worked in public service for the past nine years. Prior to that, I worked in the alarm monitoring industry for seven years. I wanted to start a business that solved a problem for people. I thought about how I felt leaving my home when going on an extended vacation. It’s a little unsettling.
Having someone check on my home to ensure everything is in order would definitely help me enjoy my vacation more. So I decided to start a business that offers home watch service and pet care so people don’t worry too much when they’re supposed to be relaxing.
I want to give people peace of mind when they’re away from their most valuable asset or their beloved pets. I offer a service I believe is needed to ensure property, pets, and even plants are well taken care of in the owner’s absence.
Growing up, both of my parents owned and operated their own businesses. My dad started a carpentry business and my mom owned a daycare and medical assistant school. It was only right that I followed in my parent’s footsteps and start my own business.
I’m hoping to set a good example for my daughter, Niyah, who assists with business tasks. She currently attends Georgia State University pursuing her psychology degree. I graduated from GSU with my bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. I couldn’t be more proud of my little Panther!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting the business wasn’t as smooth as I imagined. It took a lot of planning, research, and some start-up money. I even took a class at Kennesaw State University on property management. However, with the support of my family and friends, I was able to successfully start the business and attract clients! One of my biggest supporters is my sister Edie. She’s super creative and always has great ideas about advertising and designing promotional items for the business. I’m so thankful for her support!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’ve spent most of my career in government working as a jury coordinator and a case manager. In this capacity, I’d interact with and serve people from my community. I’d run into friends, old teachers, and even family at work! This meant I must be on my A game at all times…and I was. I received many compliments about my customer service and pleasant attitude. I’m most proud of my ability to put a smile on someone’s face. I believe a great attitude, positivity, and great service goes a long way. It can really set you apart from everyone else.
