Layne, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Enchant A Party was founded in Woodstock, GA in 2015 and provides professional characters to parties and events. We do a variety of events including birthday parties, princess tea parties, fundraisers, charity events, festivals and more! Our characters range from princesses to wizards to famous icon look-a-likes. We take joy in creating perfect events and lifelong memories for our customers.
I was working for a princess party company in Savannah, GA while attending school and started working on Enchant A Party during the summer. We took a break on the business when I was called out of state to work for the Walt Disney Company. When I returned, I had learned the customer service skills needed to make Enchant A Party the best it could be!
We began marketing ourselves as the main Woodstock princess party company. Our first events included a Cinderella themed birthday and a Hollywood themed sing-along day with famous icon look-a-likes. Since then, we have expanded the variety of characters we offer while improving the quality of our product.
I’m a seamstress with 15 years of sewing experience so I put those to good use by making sure I provided the high-quality company costumes. There was rarely a character request we couldn’t quickly fulfill.
Today we are so far ahead of where we were five years ago. We have six times the amount of cast we started with and have doubled our business each year. We are recognized in the community as a company with great customer service and quality entertainment and have provided parties from McDonough to Dahlonega.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s not hard to believe that lots of people want to be a character! It’s a dream job, getting to be a kid’s hero for just a little while. That being said, this market is completely saturated and it has become our biggest struggle. Some people, like Enchant A Party, understand that this is a legitimate business that needs to maintain professionalism and exceptional quality. Others may see this as “Dress-up” and don’t understand the responsibility this really is. It took us a little while to build our brand so we could stand out as the premiere princess company of Atlanta and North Georgia. Every obstacle we faced, however, has made us a strong team!
Enchant A Party – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Our cast takes care of every detail, leaving you to enjoy the moment! We provide and hours worth of activities, sing live and bring a gift for the birthday child. We do not cut corners on quality and all our performers are professionally trained after a thorough screening process. We have maintained a 5-star rating from every customer since we first opened. The thing I am most proud of is the team we have built. Our team ranges from high-schoolers to college students to young professionals. Everyone is so supportive of one another and truly believes in our mission. My favorite part of the week is when I get a text or call from a cast member telling me about what a wonderful time they had at their event. Because we have such a 5-star team, everyone works hard to go the extra mile and make events as magical as they can be! We remember every child we interact with so we can say their name the next time we see them. This helps keep the character real in their mind!
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
I’ve had so many proud moments with this company. This past December when I was setting up for our staff Christmas Party and realized I didn’t have enough room in our normal space for the team. That’s when I realized I had expanded larger than I thought we could grow and had a team that was excited about what we do! I’m also proud every time we get a wonderful review from a client. Each one encourages us to keep making magic!
