Ever since I can remember, I have been passionate about law. This passion inspired me to become a licensed attorney in 2009. After practicing in New York for six years, I moved to Atlanta in 2015, where I continue work diligently on behalf of my clients. Throughout my career, I have worked in diverse areas such as Personal injury, Bankruptcy, and Family law. I am a wife, a mother and business woman. My motto is, “You can continue to sleep with your dreams or wake up and chase them.” As a woman of color, I am proud to call myself not just a homemaker or a caretaker but as a rainmaker who knows how to achieve her goals.
Has it been a smooth road?
Sometimes I feel like Sojourner Truth, and I just want to shout, “Ain’t I a woman, ain’t I an attorney?” It feels like people are still looking for grey hairs as a symbol of knowledge. They fail to understand that age is just a number. Experience holds the real power, which I bravely demonstrate in the courtroom.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I am currently working for one of the top attorneys in America, Williams, and Associates, P.C. As someone who constantly works hard for the firm’s success, I always try my best to bring in clients and win cases because I want my organization to thrive. However, at the same time, I am proud that the word “NO” does not hinder my growth. I am proud of my courage in the face of fear, and I am proud of standing in my truth.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Every day is a fight to transform the world into a better place. Time doesn’t change; people change. I just hope that the pandemic is an awakening to help people realize what truly matters in life and that ten years from now, the world is a beautiful place to live in!
