Today we’d like to introduce you to Lil Drip 223.
So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I hopped on the scene in Jonesboro, Georgia on March 8th in ’99 so I rep 404 heavy. Being a Clayton County resident has given me access to the blueprint of becoming a successful entertainer, having taken cues from artist such as Derez Deshon, a fellow ClayCo. native. I originally began my journey with music in 2019 by freestyling with friends in my hometown and received so much support that I decided to take music more seriously and began investing in my newfound talent. Although I am fairly new to the music industry, my roots run deep through families influences. My mother used to sing in a group in her 20’s and would serenade me frequently around the house. Her beautiful voice nurtured a budding attraction to music and her influence remains a driving force in why I am pursuing my passion.
My experiences in college also helped cultivate my aspirations as an artist. I previously majored in Mass Communications at the Unsinkable Albany State University and appreciate the fan base that I’ve developed there. It was through my studies in the Mass Comm field that gave me the tools I needed to efficiently brand myself as an artist. Although I forged a more organic path into the music industry, I reference the tools I was given at my HBCU as my foundation. Ultimately, I aim to be the best provider for my daughter and strive to make her proud as she learns of how her father became one of the most notable artist in the music industry. I wear the title of #GirlDad as a badge of honor and prioritize being a positive influence in her life as I hope to be with my fans, gaining international notoriety. The 223 brand is shaping up to be a force to be reckoned with worldwide.
Has it been a smooth road?
As I continue to find my footing in this industry, I recognize that it is not as glamorous as it is often portrayed to be. My biggest challenge has been navigating how to align myself with those that believe and support my artistic vision and seek to leverage their own talents to cultivate 223 into a household name. It is the intent behind cultivating my team that I believe will propel my career to higher heights causing me to “blast off,” as referenced in the rocket emoji’s that I use to promote my brand.
With God continuing to surround me with the right team calculating the trajectory for my success, I know my career will soar into new stratospheres of opportunity and success, forever stamping my name in the music industry.
Alright – so let’s talk business. What else should we know about you and your career so far?
Along with my music that is offered on multiple streaming platforms such as Apple Music, Spotify and Audiomack, to name a few, my merchandise continues to do numbers with my growing fanbase. I simultaneously push my merchandise along with music so that my true fanbase has something tangible to show their support for the movement.
My streetwear designs make for everyday use enforcing that I’m shaping my brand to be recognizable in the audiences my music currently caters to. The main red 223 design on the chest of my tops is intended to mark my brand as a Target, indicating that we are an entity to be watched. As people tap into the music and familiarize themselves with the Raincheck family, all will be proud to sport the 223 brand.

There will always be challenges when tapping into the resources that will best serve your vision for your career and life in your own community. I strive daily to leverage my resources in hopes of elevating my career while indoctrinating a widespread appreciation for my music by showcasing my influential style and melodic beats. Without my fanbase in Clayton Co. amplifying the 223 movement, I don’t know how popular my music would be; I’m grateful to have their support.
