Meet Lisa Bueker

Sponsored Shoutout: Delivering the Dream of Homeownership Everywhere with Realtor Sarah Miller

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Bueker.

Hi Lisa, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My name is Lisa and I have been the owner of Two Little Flames Candles for a little less than two years. I am married and have two daughters, ages 10 and 12. They ARE my two little flames and were my inspiration for the name and my daily inspiration to work hard and be successful. I have been lucky enough to be at home over the years and have the flexibility to work part-time. I had a career after graduating college however when my oldest Brooklyn turned one(pregnant with my second) my husband and I decided it was time for me to be a full-time mom. I have always loved working and wanted to chip in financially for the family so over the last 10 years I have done so many different jobs. Currently, I teach group fitness which I love and make/sell candles. After learning the art of making good quality candles (I had a great mentor), I knew that this was something I wanted to pursue more full-time. I just love the whole process of making soy candles, meeting people, conquering challenges, and watching people enjoy my product. My goal is to put out quality rather than quantity, offer something different, use more natural ingredients and teach my girls the importance of putting love into what you are doing and working hard!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Since I have only been an established business for a short time, my journey so far has been quite smooth. I hope that when obstacles and challenges arise in the future I will face them head-on.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I established Two Little Flames in 2021. I hand-pour soy candles using commercial-grade fragrances. I love using unique vessels and containers specializing in wooden dough bowls of various shapes and sizes. Something that I offer that sets me apart is the opportunity for my customers to get refills. I love offering to refill the candle they are purchasing so that they can reuse it (recycle) and customize the fragrances throughout the year. Creating repeat customers is important to me knowing that they will also be referring me to others. I think that is the best marketing for my small business.
