Meet Lisa Ford of Rose Hall Event Center in North West

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Ford.

Lisa, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I have always had an entrepreneur mindset and wanted my own business. In my earlier business days, I worked hard to learn every aspect of running a business. I was fortunate at age 21 to work for a small company where I did everything from bookkeeping to sales. It gave me a firm understanding of the logistics involved in running a business. When I was 27 I invented and patented a baby product. Unfortunately, a larger company “borrowed” my idea and was able to develop and market the product in a better way. But it was a huge learning process. I have several other business startup stories that did not work out as planned but each one has taught me what I need to do every day to be successful. I finally discovered success when I used my God given talents along with my practical business experience. In 2009, while searching for a catering kitchen rental, I discovered Rose Hall Event Center. A full-service wedding and reception venue located in Dallas, Georgia. It was for sale. In a matter of weeks everything feel together for me to purchase the venue. I believe it was a divine appointment. Since then, despite trails of many kinds and the help of a great staff, Rose Hall has grown into a very successful, sustainable business.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
When I purchased Rose Hall I knew in order to succeed I had to hit the ground running. Keep in mind this was during the great recession. No bank was willing to loan me money for anything. It was a scary time but I just kept working while trying to keep my overhead low. I focused on developing a business model that maximized profits yet offered a value priced wedding for my customers. I was able to accomplish this by keeping as many services as possible in house. For example, I obtained an in-house catering license for the venue. We do all of our own catering. This decision also came from my desire to control the quality of our food and service level. We also have an in-house floral designer, wedding planning team and DJ. I am very thankful and proud that Rose Hall has flourished and grown in a challenging economy.

Rose Hall is a casually elegant indoor/outdoor garden wedding ceremony and reception venue with a vintage flare. It is a beautiful property and venue! We offer affordable and all-inclusive wedding packages. We have found that by including many in-house wedding services and products in our packages we can consistently host weddings that exceed the expectation of our couples and their families. Every aspect of our wedding packages are formulated and designed to produce beautiful weddings every time!

  • 100 guests all-inclusive wedding on Saturday $8275 (Includes everything except officiate and photographer).
  • 100 guests all-inclusive wedding on Fri/Sun $7275 (Includes everything except officiate and photographer).
  • 100 guests all-inclusive wedding on Saturday including photographer and additional floral $10,200. (officiate not included)
