Meet Looh

Today we’d like to introduce you to Looh, Independent Manager and Project Coordinator in A3C Festival and Conference.

Looh, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started my journey in 2012 by launching a lifestyle brand that was active from 2012 – 2016. During that time, I created platforms and opportunities for creatives and executives through extensive event curating by way of sponsorship and collaboration. During that time, I met my partner Jasmine Anderson who also curated event experiences within the realm of fashion and women’s empowerment.

It was in 2017 when Jasmine approached me about curating an A3C experience to provide yet another opportunity for creatives and their executive team. Currently, Jasmine and myself are on our 3rd consecutive and official A3C stage titled Electric Flow. After A3C 2019, Jasmine and I are setting our sights on providing more opportunities to women in the business and creative communities of Atlanta

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road has not been easy at all. Most of the struggles that arise begin with how you react to unexpected circumstances. The best way to overcome challenges with external forces such as other individual, weather, venue complications or whatever else that may be out of your control is to find peace within yourself with said obstacle.

That may sound generic but that is my truth within my experience. Reading also helped me a lot to grow and control my thoughts, feelings and emotions when dealing with circumstances that did not play out how I saw fit. I started off by reading self-help and self-development books, then I began to read on the particular industry I was interested in and its leaders and influencers. After that, I found myself going down a rabbit hole of books that stem from recommendations from peers and/or the books themselves.

What do you do, what do you specialize in, what are you known for, etc. What are you most proud of? What sets you apart from others?
I am an event curator and manager. I have specialized in curating and leading an array of events and experiences for the last six years from Rhode Island down to Atlanta and over in Los Angeles. The bulk of my work has been in Philadelphia and I have been tapping into the LA market as of 2019.

In regards to management work, I represent a talented DJ/Producer who is based in Philly who goes by Muddy Taylor. I have been working with Muddy for two-years now and we have accomplished so much in our short time together.

I am most proud of being extremely dependable to my partners and having the ability to iron out details that may go overlooked. I believe what sets me apart from others are my morals and tenacity. Long nights, early mornings, hundreds of emails and calls, grass-roots work, putting up my own money and more! All to accomplish whatever is necessary for the greater good of the team.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
As for the future, I look forward to changes in my structure, my business model and my portfolio. Structure in terms of streams of income, business model in terms of how those streams of income are set up and my portfolio in regards to my variation of work and their industries, clients and target audience.

Recently my brother and I acquired a photo booth to service events of others, whether corporate or independent. I am excited to grow that and add value to someone else’s curated experience. The photo booth is called “Xcellent Fotos”, names after our slain brother Dax Rowland who most knew as “X”.

Outside of work, I want to continue growing and developing into the best man that I can be by way of health and wellness practices, reading more and more every year, and continue to share and provide opportunities for others.
