Meet Luis Lozoya of Superior Healthclub Personal Training

Today we’d like to introduce you to Luis Lozoya.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Luis. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I was born in the city of Juares, Mexico in 1994. I moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 2001 at the age of seven.

Ever since I was a little kid, I have always been very active. Growing up, I was very involved in sports. In high school I played soccer, ran track and field and ran cross country. My competitive mentality and perseverance gave me the opportunity to play soccer for 3 years at Reinhardt University where I am pursuing a degree in Business.

Before entering college, I broke my right leg at a soccer tournament. While I was recuperating from the injury, I kept myself busy by going to the gym every day for close to four hours at a time. When I graduated I weighed 120 pounds, and the idea of gaining weight became very real to me during the time I was injured. After about four months of training every day and learning more and more about health and fitness, I gained 25 pounds of weight. In my last three years of college, I have kept myself busy by playing soccer, training, and working at Superior Healthclub as the personal training manager.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road. Some of the biggest struggles in my life have been paying for college, managing my time between multiple jobs and classes and staying injury free.

Superior Healthclub Personal Training – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I am a Personal Training Manager at Superior Healthclub.

We specialize in Individual 1 on 1 personal training and buddy training (2-3).

We offer clients programs such as weight loss, sport specific training, mobility and flexibility, strength and conditioning. We offer each member and each prospect a free one hour Fitness Assessment with one of our personal trainers. During each assessment, we like to really get to know the individual in order to help them improve their fitness goals. During the assessment, we go over each individual’s goals and provide them with a complete plan to help them reach those goals.

At superior Healthclub, we also offer CrossFit classes and medical weight loss.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
I’ve had many proud moments here at Superior. Every achievement that my clients accomplish means a lot to me. Whether it’s doing a squat properly or increasing 20 pounds on their max effort lift, it’s all equally important for me as a trainer and friend.

One of my proudest moments was with a classmate, Abraham, who was able to drop 21 pounds in his first month of training! His journey and transformation has inspired his family and friends. I get to see Abraham most days during the week. There have been multiple times where I’ve witnessed other students compliment Abraham on his achievements. For me, that is the reason that I love my job so much. Being able to witness these accomplishments is truly a blessing. Each day, I get to see my clients improve their health as well as their lifestyle.
