Today we’d like to introduce you to Madeline Madrigal.
Madeline, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I spent 15 years in corporate in all types of organizations starting my career in a big four consulting firm and even spending some years in the public sector after my completing my MPP; unfortunately, I spent most of those years job hopping out of frustration and lack of fulfillment from my job. I kept searching and searching for the perfect job and before I knew it 10+ years had passed since I started my career. I reflected on my life: I had completed a master’s degree, was living in a beautiful tropical city, had a highly coveted lobbying job but I felt empty and frustrated day-to-day. Shortly after, I was led to a church small group where I eventually surrendered my life to the Lord and experienced an immense sense of fulfillment and joy, even in my job. I came to the realization that it was not an issue of the perfect job, but an issue with the condition of my heart.
As my relationship with the Lord grew, He revealed to me how His Word can and should be applied to every aspect of our lives, even our jobs in the corporate world. After wholeheartedly surrendering my career to the Lord, I saw Him elevate me to positions I had tried and tried to achieve on my own merits for years but failed. I learned my joy and fulfillment should not come from my job, but from the eternal source of the Lord. Only He can truly fill our voids; when we seek joy from our jobs, material items, or other worldly matters that “joy” always fall short.
I knew I couldn’t be the only one who had been or is frustrated in their job situation; I came to learn 90% of the world’s workforce deems their job a source of frustration (source: Gallop). I knew God wanted to use everything I went through to help others so I formed a small group through my church around the topic Kingdom Purpose in the corporate world. Week after week, we unpacked what it means to work in corporate or as an entrepreneur while walking in your God-given purpose, thus achieving eternal joy. There was born Power of 3 Services; utilizing my myriad of corporate experience combined with the revelation of how the Word should be applied in the corporate world, Power of 3 Services provides traditional business advising services while ensuring alignment with Kingdom Purpose. Additionally, we offer free monthly live streamed sessions where we discuss topics such as job frustration, taking leaps of faith in your career, etc.- these sessions are an incredible value as believers and non-believers alike can be part of the conversation as we dive into and resolve topics we all encounter in our careers.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Thus far, the most challenging part has been balancing entrepreneurship with my current job, serving in my church, and family. I wholeheartedly commit to excellence in everything I do as I know it is unto the Lord (Colossians 3:23) which has certainly stretched me in this season.
I overcome this challenge by surrendering my day to Him every morning. I seek His wisdom and guidance for discerning what needs to be done and what can wait. This has required tremendous growth and daily dying of my flesh, but it has also brought freedom knowing I do not have to carry that yoke; I can trust His guidance and eternal perspective versus my own. Despite the challenge of balance, there is an unwavering peace knowing I am under His wing; He has called me to do this and He will make a way.

Power of 3 Services offers 2 pillars of services: business advising and individual career advising. Our end-to-end business advising entails partnering with our clients during any or all phases along the business cycle such as launch planning, process improvement, margin improvement strategies, and modeling, growth strategies and planning, project management, and many more. As individual career advisors, we partner with clients to unpack career frustration, identify and apply spiritual gifts in corporate, navigating corporate politics, as well as advise on how and when to have a conversations regarding raises and even interview prep.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I had to start over, I would have surrendered my life and career to the Lord sooner. The road overflowing with His peace when He is in charge. Nonetheless, I trust He is using all the lessons learned on my journey to better serve others whether it’s my family, friends, clients, church, etc. There is a reason He needed me to take the longer path; I trust His infinite wisdom and am at peace with the journey.
