Meet Malachi Harry

Today we’d like to introduce you to Malachi Harry.

Hi Malachi, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My photography journey started shortly after high school. I was looking for a way to express my creativity and got involved with clothing. Shortly there after I created a small clothing brand in my city. I made an instagram and posted pictures of the clothing designs I came up with. Though I had some success in that process, I wanted to bring a more creative element to my page. I determined that the missing piece to this was a photographer. I asked a couple of friends, but they were too busy at the time to collaborate with me. Frustrated, I bought a camera and started taking my own pictures.

From there, I began meeting new people in the community and fell in love with the craft, leaving my clothing brand behind. I haven’t looked back ever since.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Photography is a self-motivating skill in my opinion. My greatest critic has always been me. I craved perfection early in my career and quickly realized that I did not have the experience or practice to achieve it. With practice comes creative slumps, as I’d like to call it. and at times it can be hard to stay inspired while dealing with life.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I classify my work as art. I’ve learned to never rush my art and to take my time in the creative process. I’d say I specialize in portraits and lifestyle photos. Im best known for my use of color and detail in my portraits. My proudest moments as photographer typically involve the people I’ve met in my career. Photography gave me a voice that i’m able to share across the world. I would call my work a bit unorthodox/unique. I tend to choose lanes that have been lightly treaded on and make it my own.

How do you define success?
Success to me is a personal accomplishment fulfilled by oneself, whether that be money, popularity, or self discovery.
