Meet Marissa of 95 entertainment in Midtown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marissa.

Marissa, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Music has always been a passion for me. I grew up in a musical family and my mother had the dream of becoming a singer. I would hear her singing all day since I can remember! I eventually picked up the habit and started using music as an outlet for every emotion I was going through. After graduating from high school, I was given the opportunity to work with a music executive. Once I recorded my first record, I fell in love with the creative process just as much as the art. Working continuously and diligently, I was able to release several records and partner with other larger artists, grabbing the attention of my supporters today.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Not at all! But I think that’s for anyone chasing their dreams! There are good days & there are bad days… but the good ones keep you going! For me, I would definitely say going from being signed to a label, to going completely independent was my biggest struggle I’ve faced yet. I didn’t know what I was going to do, or how I was going to do it. However, with every struggle comes to a lesson and I feel like the lessons I’ve learned being independent are things I wouldn’t have learned any other way. It turned me to a beast and really sculpted me into the BOSS I am now.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I am a singer/songwriter. You can find all of my records on ALL streaming platforms. I recently released my very first EP “This Is Me” fully written by me. I would say this is my most proud work. It was my first content I’ve ever released as a writer and also as an independent artist. I would say what makes me different from other artists is my grind. I’m always finding a way. I will do whatever I need to to reach my goals, even if that means getting my own hands dirty.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
Wow! Behind every great person… is a great person(s). In the music industry, I’ve met so many people along my journey that have taught me so much about perfecting my craft and helped mold me into the person I am. I would definitely say the most influential people who have helped me throughout everything though, are my closest friends and family. They are always there to listen & always there to push me when I feel like giving up. They also keep it sooooo real with me and keep me in check! I really don’t know where I would be without them.
