Meet Marquarius “The MJ” Johnson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marquarius “The MJ” Johnson.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Marquarius “MJ”. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
It all started back in my hometown Birmingham, Alabama. Since I was about 8-9 years old, I would just record my daily life and upload it on YouTube. My passion has always been to act, and I remember every time a movie that I really liked came on, I would react to my favorite parts and since then, I just knew what my dreams were.

In my Sophomore year of Attending G.W Carver Highschool, I started creating my own content, comedy skits, etc. and they slowly gained views and shares. By the time I became a 2016 senior, I added on replicating celebrity wardrobes such as (Beyonce, Cardi B, Nicki Minaj), and more by copying their Hollywood & Red carpet looks custom creating them on my own, with only Hot Glue and necessities. In 2017-2018 was my hype year, being published on Big sites such as (BET) for Replicating Keysha Ka’oirs wedding dress, The Shade Room, and also Reposted once on Female rapper Cardi B’s Instagram captioned “Throwback of the Met Gala” for copying her 2018 Meta Gala look. July 2019, I moved to Atlanta, GA to go further in my career and that’s what I’m now doing, accomplishing my dreams.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has not been smooth but if it was as smooth, I probably wouldn’t appreciate it as much as I do today. Ive had struggles in my upcoming days or chasing my dreams, but those struggles didn’t stop me. As my fan base grew, the fan Hate did also. Like any other person with a large base, comments can get crazy and at the time, those negative comments slowly made me lose confidence within myself and also my dreams. I then began To sink into a dark place which led into depression. I started to become someone I wasn’t which would only lead me into a deeper depression. Eventually, I realized in life that it takes more energy from you when you’re trying to be someone’ your not rather than just being yourself…BE YOURSELF.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I have a large creative mind, and I’m known for my Creativity, Bright smile, and quick work drive. Truly honored to say that the progress of my career is much much greater than the past. We all are one and can become one, but what set me apart from most is my Dedication and Ambition.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite childhood memory is just being a child because you only get that once.
