Today we’d like to introduce you to Mary Koval.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I had injured my neck and required surgery. It took some time to heal from that, I was not able to lift much after that and I always loved taking pictures. I purchased my first camera and started taking nature, landscaping, and animal pictures. I then moved on to taking pictures of people because family kept telling me I should just become a professional photographer. I took the plunge and have never been happier. It is so nice to meet so many great people. It is so rewarding to get the replies from the folks after they see their pictures! I’ve been doing this now over 4 years and can’t imagine doing anything else.

Has it been a smooth road?
The road has been an uphill climb. There are so many folks out there taking pictures in Metro Atlanta so sometimes it’s hard to “land that photo shoot”. I am completely self-taught. Some times of the year are more abundant than others as well. Seasonal, if you were to say. Lean times then Feast.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
M Koval Photography. I am a photographer. It is a pleasure to take pictures at weddings, maternity pictures and newborn pictures. I do also take pictures of anything from A to Z.

I reinvest much into my props and outfits for photo shoots and equipment and things. People say I make them feel at ease. Many of my clients have become great friends of mine! I shoot all photos in RAW format so essentially every picture is edited as through photo shop pictures must be edited to become a JPG for clients to use. I am proud to have great rates for folks to afford pictures also that I get to meet so many great people out there!

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Atlanta is a great place for many businesses, not just Photographers. There are so many great places to take pictures in and around Metro Atlanta. That is why so many movies and TV shows are made here. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else!
