Meet Matthew Steele of Matt Culture in Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Matthew Steele.

Matthew, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Well, to begin, I don’t personally feel I’ve gotten anywhere yet with my career. Just because I know there are many more milestones I’d like to accomplish before putting my mindset on another pedestal, or wherever people put their own mind. I used too and still always sing everywhere I go really, before all the fancy studios to just my small and comfy studio in my closet, lol. I started recording music with some of my friends that I went to high school with, and we even started a group. Since then, I always strive to achieve different sounds with my voice really. I used to record on my cell phone before I could even afford a microphone, there were no excuses. My drive is always on go when I want to learn something that could contribute to my art.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I don’t believe in or like smooth roads, I like them bumpy and messed up. The more experience and lessons, the more power and knowledge that can advance your future potential as an artist.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I feel the way I come off, how my energy is taken once I enter a room. Before being this superstar to other people and critics one day if that’s how everyone puts it. I want to have my own character to show for it really.
