Meet Maxwell Campbell of Ineedthemax in Douglasville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Maxwell Campbell.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Maxwell. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
A guy from Miami, FL but it’s kinda crazy how I got started with Photography. I was in the middle of running a music studio and managing 2 artists that I needed Photography work for and one of my artists had a friend that did camera work for us but never sent the photos. So, I was like let me get a camera and do it myself. I’m a real no excuses-let’s get it done person even if I don’t know how to do it, let’s learn as we go. I started using my sister point and shoot camera, then my mom noticed how serious I was about it and bought my first professional camera and I started just taking pictures everybody and everything falling in love with it, mind you, I never thought about photography a day in my life but it changed my life. Photography and working with a close friend that’s a successful actor/artist now and his family, I learned a lot about trusting myself and my work and then, I ended moving to LA, a place I’ve only seen on TV and in movies and never thought I would actually live there for two years where I got to work with numerous actors and music artists. I learned a lot in LA, now, I’m back in Atlanta to apply what I’ve learned and have a creative space opening soon.

Has it been a smooth road?
Man, far from a smooth road from going broke to bad personal health choices to being loyal, I put my heart in everything, what I do the people I believe in. I lost my job in Atlanta and instead of going to get another one, I decided to push photography because I gave that job seven years of my life for them to just cut me off like that it kinda hurt and I didn’t want to give anyone else that kinda power again. Even living in LA at first, I had to live in my car for three months. I had a bag full of clothes in my trunk and 24-hour Planet Fitness membership to take showers and breaks from being in the car, sometimes I would try to work out. I’d be so tired, I’ll fall asleep at the workout machine but going through this, I was so proud of myself. I used to be scared to chase my dreams those three months, I learned so much about myself and living like that didn’t bother me at all, only in my social life, I was facing challenges because I knew I didn’t have much yet and I’m not good at lying so I would just avoid making friends and building relationships, etc. So, if that situation affected anything, it would be my social life but I trust my struggles, it helps me focus on the big picture and stay motivated and true to who I am.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Ineedthemax – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
The main thing I specialize in is photography, I became very good at it started taking photos of a lot of actors/artists Algee Smith, YBN Cordae, Trevor Jackson and Malcolm Kelley blogs and tv network was using my photos to promote their projects, that’s when my name first started getting out there and most known for and also, I do a little motivational speaking. I like helping people, I get it from my mom so I decided to implement it together, I like to help men/women who wants to model/act/rap/sing, build the confidence to do so which is why I name it Ineedthemax which means wanting the most, so you got to give it the most without cutting any corners, that’s what I’m most proud of as a company helping others reach their goals. I think the motivational part sets me apart, I’ll sit on the phone for hours with clients just talking about growth and just helping them through the self-conscious moments.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love Atlanta, it’s growing and pushing everyone to decide what they want to do the rest of their life early. I love seeing people my color being successful and respected the culture everything about it. I’m not sure exactly what I like least, you got to accept the good with the bad because that’s how we figure out who we are in life, we try things if we don’t like it, we try something else you know.
