Meet Meg B White of Meg B White Salon in Midtown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Meg B White.

Meg, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My life passion and career began on a horse farm in Michigan where I fell in love with doing my horses mane and tail hair. After dual enrolling in cosmetology school, I went on to business school before moving to the big little city called Las Vegas. Las Vegas was the city where I was able to truly come into my own style without the Midwest pressure of mediocrity. I opened my first salon in Vegas and got my first taste of being my own boss. Once the desert air became boring to me a found the city in the forest called Atlanta. Now, I have been living in this humid southern jungle for five years and have flourished in my industry as well as educating colorists across the world as a Regional Artistic Trainer for Pravana. My studio is where the magic happens, and then I go inspire others to do the same. Pretty much a fairy tale.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road isn’t fun unless you almost fall out of the car. I am a dreamer and therefore I have spent a few months here and there on my journey broke as a joke, but following my dream. The money will always come, but all we have is today to have fun! I’ve also been fired before for being too me, too motivated and standing up for myself. Every time I look back on the time I got fired I’m inspired to send that salon flowers to say Thank You.

Meg B White Salon – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
My studio is for creating works of art! I am known for my rainbow unicorn goddess hair color creations that are healthy and long-lasting. My key to success is educating my clients on their new hair and how to maintain it. We were not born with rainbow hair, so you have to completely rewire your daily hair routine. I am most proud of allowing people to express themselves on the outside through their hair.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment of my career so far is winning educator of the year for Pravana. I try so hard to spread my love for Pravana that when it was recognized I was ecstatic. I love the color company that I work for so much that I want to go far with them.
