Meet Mia Paige in Gwinnett County

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mia Paige.

Mia, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Growing up in Memphis Tennessee I was greatly influenced by Beale Street. The art and music on Beale Street was ever changing and remarkable!

During my elementary and middle school years, I participated in chorus and performed in plays. Once I started high school I was introduced to art class! I didn’t know them that I was in love with art but I felt secure when I painted.

Shortly after graduating I decided to give art a try as a career! Best decision I’ve ever made! I realized that there were so many different kinds of art! I love experimenting and I like to call myself an “everything artist.”

My favorite is abstract expression art! I adore being able to display emotions and situations on a canvas. I consider the art as a part of me! I like to think of it as dissecting into a syringe and pouring that syringe onto a canvas!

I’ve been painting for about six years now and it hasn’t been an easy journey but it has been fun! I wouldn’t trade it for the world!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Smooth road? Ha! Absolutely not, but that’s what makes it worthwhile! If there were no challenges, then I wouldn’t want to pursue being an artist.

Being a woman in this kind of industry has been one of my biggest challenges. No one takes me serious but I know my worth and I always fight! It’s fun being underrated!

When I first got started, I would take uber rides to Atlanta at least twice a week. I also faced physical and mental challenges as well as just juggling life. It’s tough, but every dream worth fighting for is worth the battle!

Please tell us about Mia Paige Art.
I am a freelance artist! I work under canvas5550 with other amazing artists! We work as a team! I specialize in abstract expressionism. What sets me apart from others is that I put my heart and soul into my art. I consider my art extensions of me.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I wouldn’t change anything! I loved the struggle and I loved the outcome!
